There is just so much that can be said about a mass produced watch.
Somebody at Rolex im sure is laughing their ass off reading the B.S. on the internet sites like this.

I understand the point of this thread, but how many people read an instruction manual or do a search unless it is a last resort? Obviously, the answer is, "Not enough." But that's kind of human nature.

I purchased a Sony DVD player a number of years ago. I hooked up the audio and video connections, plugged it in, put the batteries in the remote control and pressed the "On" button on the remote control. Nothing. Dead out of the box? I started to read the instruction manual. It turns out that the player has kind of a neat feature. If the player is really "Off" you have to turn it "On" by using the button on the front of the player, and not by using the remote control. The remote control only toggles between "On" and "Standby." You can not accidentally turn the player off completely by using the remote. You can turn the player off completely by using the button on the player. You might want to do this so that a remote control does not control this player at the same time it is controlling another piece of equipment with the same IR coding.

Back to Rolex and the changing date at noon question. These are the complete instructions on "Date change position" from my Rolex Datejust instruction manual. I have the QuickSet feature.

"Crown pulled out to the first notch.
Rapid change of date is achieved from this position as the hands are moved from three to six o'clock."

WTF? I did buy the watch from a USA AD, and it has been serviced by RSC, so it is authentic. Therefore, I don't think it is a problem of translating from Chinese to English.

While it is tedious to have the same question asked over and over and over, I can sympathize with the persons doing the asking on the noon date change. I don't know whether more FAQs would help, since I don't know how many would read them.

The more I think about this thread, and yes it is repetitive because I have seen this question asked several times, the more I believe it goes against the general vibe of this place and is offensive to some on a certain level. It discourages members from asking a question for fear of being ridiculed.

Who are we to belittle the questions asked. At one point I knew nothing about Rolex or watches in general and this place among others has served to educate me.

I realize some of this was meant in a light-hearted way but if a newbie comes here with what they deem a legitimate question I think it should be respected and if you feel otherwise you should move on to the next one. There are many threads I skip over and a few of them have been mentioned here but I don't intend to make fun of the person asking them.

The last thing I would think we want to do is discourage the participation of new members and I think this thread does that.

I don't mind the repetition...months can go by between when I can log on, and I just can't go over the hundreds of posts that I missed.

Being a YM owner, though, I do look for YM threads, and every now and then I see one along the lines of, "I like the looks of the YM but don't know if I should get one because they aren't as popular as the Sub."

Its quite simple most things watch related can be found by using the forum very own excellent search facility.Second most things Rolex or watch related can be found in the Rolex & other watches resource forum.And yes it does get tiresome especially when the same question gets asked sometimes on the same page and only few posts below.
