4 Rolex on the way to try :)

Hey everyone. It's been a while since I made a thread in the general discussion forum so I thought I would update everyone I what I will be buying next! I know some people get annoyed that I flip watches, but an equal number of people have messaged me saying that they find it interesting and fun to read about my journey.

So, on to the watches. I made a deal with one of my preferred ADs for 4 watches that I would like to try which should arrive in 7 days. Only 1 of these watches is a 100% keeper. 2 of them will likely be moved for a ceramic Daytona white dial down the road but the ETA is about a year.

1. 116660 D-blue. I sold this recently and it was a mistake. This watch will now be a 100% keeper for me. It fit so good on my wrist and looked so nice. I should never have let it go. Sometimes you have to sell something to realize what you lost. D-blue owners rejoice, you picked the right one .

2. 116400GV black. A classic example of something my heart has always wanted to try. I love the look but never got around to buying one because of the price.

3. 116710 BLNR. I sold this recently but it is just such an amazing watch that I wanted to give it another chance. My brain tells me to love this watch but the last time the D-blue dominated wrist time.

4. 114300 Rhodium. I threw this one into the deal at the last second. This is the most value per $ Rolex and I always thought it looked great. My AD sweetened the deal and I could not refuse. I will likely flip this 100% down the road but get to try it in the process.

The Dilemma Do I end up with:

1. D-blue, BLNR, DaytonaC

or

2. D-blue, MilgaussGV, DaytonaC

I feel like the milgauss brings a ton of variation to that trio with green crystal, smooth bezel, etc. While the BLNR is dwarfed by the D-blue and in a similar dive case. My brain tells me option 1 but my heart says option 2. I guess I will have several months to figure it out...What do you guys think?

Yes for sure :). Well the 4 watches above have been bought. They will arrive in 7 days. I will have several months to decide if the BLNR or the Milgauss GV is the keeper to go with the 116500 white dial daytona.

With you buying watches four at a time, and with the flipping history that you refer to, I am surprised that an AD isn't bending over backwards to get you a ceramic Daytona. Maybe they are concerned you will just keep it!

right....I spend 100k with them in the last 4 months and still no 116500. I think your right they are afraid I will be satisfied..haha. But I do admire their integrity. 3rd on the list isn't too bad.

I voted BLNR but, after reading your post, it sounds like the Milgauss might be better suited; and you make a good point; the BLNR and deep blue are both dive/sport watches with black & blue themes.

Josh, I think you're right...the millie is going to bring more variety to the collection than the BLNR.

But...I also think there's about 100 times the chance you're going to flip it than the BLNR.

Been eyeing the Z-Blue myself. That would be my choice if you're trying out milies for the collection...

Hey Josh, I will go with option #2 I think it's time for a Millgaus...

I'm sorry that anyone here made you feel like you were being annoying for the flipping, and I hope that is not the case.

This forum should be applauding you for taking some risks in the ROLEX world and sharing that with us.

You go to town and don't worry about it. They may be jealous.

I have always felt that, there will be some that don't get people like us and that's OK. WE still care for them...

BLNR, DaytonaC, D-Blue. Honestly, three of the most beautiful sport watches Rolex has ever made. I would buy those three, quit the watch flipping game and ride off into the sunset if I were you.

Also don't sleep on the 114300, it is quite a nice piece in person!

Josh, I think you are crazy for parting with the YG sub. But I also enjoy the flipping journey. Interested to see where you land with the BLNR as I'm thinking of it as my next year addition.

You already said the D-Blue took all of the BLNRs wrist time, so I think you will be more inclined to keep the milgauss. That said, maybe Rolex isn't for you anymore (other than the Deep Blue). Maybe you should try a PP or AP? Either way, I'm sure you are going to have a great collection!

Personally I would end up with Dilemma 1. I already have a BLNR, am on a wait list for a Deep Blue and one day would like a Daytona.

Most people on here will pick blnr over a GV. I'm one of them. I'm interested in hearing about the OP. I had the green glass, felt it was a bit top heavy. Certainly was a fun piece.

It's fun to watch you rebuild and rebuild and rebuild. For me the d-blue sees wrist time, the blnr no time and the daytona is gone. Go milgauss for a change.

No Millie Vanillie for me...

First off the smooth bezel does do anything 4 me
personally...

Second, the D-Blue has a half blue dial whilst
The BLNR has a half blue bezel ...
Two completely different design schemes...
Plus you always mentioned how useful the GMT function
was for you ...
GMT BLNR as your daily , D-Blue for after hours or
more sport dress and Daytona C for dressy and weekends...

I say you end up owning a D-Blue and a DaytonaC at the same time and that is it.

And I think people are right. The AD probably thinks that once you get a DaytonaC you will slow down, and they can't have that.

D-blue, GV and DaytonaC.

With the Daytona and D-blue, I think the GV gives much more variety than the BLNR (smooth bezel, sticks on the dial, not more blue, green crystal, a bit more dress).

Plus, I personally think the GV is a "cooler" watch than the BLNR, but that's 100% subjective.

I can't really help you as I have never flipped a watch.

But this is my wife's favourite Rolex and I really enjoy wearing it.

The smooth narrow bezel makes the dial look so big and the 7mm crown.
So different from the others....
