Cost of RSC service for a Daytona 116520
I'm thinking of buying an 116520, and many of them for sale are approaching 10 years old with no service history.
Assuming no issues (having to replace bezel, crystal, etc.) what does a typical service cost for one of these? I know it's more expensive, but I'm thinking of using the RSC so that I'd get a warranty card, which would help in future resale (when my ceramic comes in the next decade). Thanks for replying with actual experience rather than a guess.

The cost is as said above - but a big risk is that something costly may need to be replaced inside. Such an eventuality could add hundreds or more.
For that reason, focus on the ones that have had an RSC service done recently - you'll have less risk.

The base for a Daytona is 750, then you would add in the cost of bezel and crystal if you choose to change those, plus anything unforeseen like a new crown and tube.

Rik can and will no longer do Daytona and GMT's. Rolex cut indy's off from buying OEM parts from them for these two and he will not use aftermarket parts. Already tried that.

That's odd to hear about Rick getting cut off for movement parts on anything. I just had a conversation with my guy and that's not the case for him - but it is true certain parts (like ceramic bezels) are being declined for obvious reasons.

There are some plates that Rolex does not want watchmakers to refinish if they find one that isn't perfectly flat. But that's been going on a while and did not affect Daytona's. What Rolex was doing at the time was selling the part though.
I'm sure he knows what's what and don't question his interaction with them.

I talked to my watch guy (Haris Durakovic at USA Watch Service). My family and I have used him for all our Rolex watches since he is based in the same town we live in. He stated that Rolex no longer supplies parts for the 4130 movement. That being said, i have found his prices way more reasonable than Rolex for service. I have been to his shop a few times, great guy, highly recommend!

I've been told for the longest time that Rolex was restricting parts on the 4130. I guess that's still the case?
