Finally

I finally broke down and got a new car. I was up in the air as to which one to get, and have been trying to decide for the last couple of months or so. I was really leaning toward a BMW 5 series and the Cadillac CTS but, I figured I'd leave the sedan for a little farther down the road.

I decided to cater to my youthful side and went with the Mustang GT. I was a little surprised with this car. I love the retro look, both exterior and interior. It's got a lot of go! It's fast as hell and handles great. I'll try to get a couple of pic's and post them

So we all just finishing whining about the price of gas & what do you do, but a muscle car. Good on you
I guess when your buddies are the ones writing the speeding tickets you can use your car as it was meant
Enjoy, what colour did you get??
I prefer the GT, the dual headlights add a lot to the look.

I got the dark gray, tungsten, I think it's called. I like the fog lights in the grille too, it definitely completes the retro look

yeah, I guess I'm lucky as far as tickets are concerned. But I haven't written one in about ten years, seriously, so I don't feel so bad I see it like this, considering the way I drive, I have no business writing anyone a ticket

Congrats on the Mustang, CJ....great looking car. Not a fan of American muscle, but that's one car I've always admired....way back since 1964 when I first saw its ad in PLAYBOY.

Nice American car Graig, but afraid there are only one real type of car today, and they are German.

Congrats Craig... I hope you like it. Not my cuppa at all, but if it floats your boat, then it's all good. Post some pix when you get a chance.

Hope you enjoy the new wheels Craig! As others have said, not my style, but if you enjoy it that's what matters.

Congrats, Craig. I'm jealous. I love that car.
That was the same car I was going to buy while I was a working stiff. I wanted mine with the red leather upgrade package. Then I ended up getting accepted to grad school. Oh well.

Agreed completely, Padi German models are far, far superior. I came very close to the BMW 5 series, but I figured I'd hold off on the sedan for a few more years and get the hot rod thing out of my system My wife won't let me ride anymore, so this is as close as I can get to it..........I guess

A 5 series or a mustang.
That must have been a really tuff decision.
Did you drive the 5? or the 3?

I drove 530i. It's an amazing car and I got a great deal offered on it as well. the choice of the mustang wasn't a matter of quality. If that were the case the BMW would be in the driveway. Hell, the Mustang isn't even in the same league. It's just something about the Mustang. I've always loved the 68 and 69 Shelby's and this body style looks just like them I guess the style of the car is more....me

My time for a sedan will come soon enough. I'm just trying to hang on to the muscle car years a little longer

Sounds like you're trying to compensate for a short-coming, there Craig.

Arleen brought a canary yellow '65 Mustang convertible to our marriage. (It beat the hell out of my '65 Corvair.) Still have fond memories of that car. Sorry now that we traded both of them in on a '69 Chevy Malibou convertible. We could have made a fortune if we had kept both and maintained them.

The only problem with the Mustang is that it's a Ford.

FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily or Found On Road Dead

BTW Ed, when I was in high school, a buddy had a Corvair drop-top and hopped it up. It was quite fast, but also quite a handful. Sounded like a VW beetle on steroids.

I figured I would leave out the full text and let someone else fill in the blanks. And you did, Earl.

That's exactly what FORD stands for.

Congratulations, Craig! :-) I love the new Mustang -- although I cringe everytime I see one with a single exhaust. The V8 is the only way to have it.

Best of luck with it. I've had two Fords (Taurus and Expedition), and my luck wasn't so good. ;-)

We had an Expedition for a company car for a few years - the most uncomfortable vehicle I've ever driven. As for the Taurus, you got what you deserved for buying that Peter!
