Service history

Hi, guys:

I just got my 1st Sub, I want to bring it to have it service if it hasn't been done, how do I find out if my watch had serviced at Rolex service center?
Can I call Rolex and give them my serial number?

You can try to call Rolex but I doubt they will give the information over the phone.

When I got my GMT II I took it to the Beverly Hills RSC and they gave my a written document that showed the entire service history of work done over a 15 year period. They also replaced the black insert with a Coke insert.

Boutique is on Market st, RSC is own by private individual, not Rolex, I guess I will give it a try.
By the way, did you ever try that RSC, how is it?

If you remove the case back and take a loupe, there should be tiny engravings left by the previous watchmaker(s). I heard they always do that after they work on a watch and I have seen it on my previous watch too. It is like a code that they have between them to keep track on what has been done.
Correct me if I am wrong.

It is, and has been a common practice/tradition among independent watchmakers.

I have had lots of service work performed on quite a few watches through RSC's and in the main the RSC work wasn't inscribed on the inside of the case back except for some work that was performed in Geneva under special circumstances.
There is no need for an RSC to inscribe the case back because they essentially keep a global data base of all work performed on the watches available to them at any time.
