Sky-Dweller spotted
Today I participated in a meeting with Chairman of one Asian bank. When he came i immediately noticed that he was wearing Rolex. Unfortunately i did not take my glasses and initially thought that he is wearing SS Datejust II with fluted bezel. I was surprised a bit as I knew that this guy is really wealthy and very influential..... I was amazed that this watch was sparkling in the light.
Then i noticed that this is actually WG Sky-Dweller. It was a first time when i saw this watch in WG. I always thought that SS and WG do not differ in color, however, i can tell you that WG Sky-Dweller is super impressive watch. It has a good wrist presence and really draws attention. After meeting we had a short discussion on Rolexes.... however, i understood that he is not a WIS and bought this watch because he just liked it and it was looking good on his large wrist. |

I spotted one in RG at a beer garden a few years back and my eyes were glued to it like a supermodel in a bikini. Presence for days.

I have Sky Dweller rose gold with sundust dial and can tell have immense wrist presence.
When I was in Barcelona almost all people remain with look at my hand. This is something new for me because I have many watch who cost more and not be remarked like SD. I love it but because that wrist presence I can't wear it every day. |

I had one for a spell...
I loved the concept of the watch-just not a fan of the fluted bezel. Over my collecting career I have found only two things that Rolex does that I do not like-fluted bezels and polished center links. As with all things in life I found out after the fact

Great story. I've never seen one in the real world. The SD has been my grail, but I have thin wrists (the 36mm DJ looks good on my wrists my 41mm Tudor BBB is a bit large for me) and I doubt that I could tolerate that much wrist "presence" without looking dumb. Too bad, wonderful looking watch.

they're my favorite of everything in their lineup
I dare not ever try one on, or else it would become that much more of a reality as would be the mrs burying me in the backyard late one night |

The Sky D has always been my grail since it came out and I finally made it reality last year (YG bracelet with silver dial). I highly recommend it for wrist presence, fluted command bezel, complications, dial, aesthetics, and the list goes on and on (for me at least). My favorite YG watch.

yes the difference between SS and WG is very obvious in real life
WG, while many still wont realise they are looking at gold, definitely draws the eye much more!!

I wish they would put a flat dial without Sunburt on a RG or YG Skydweller. I would trade my sunburst dial RG for a flat white dialed one.

Chaps
I know it is all very subjective, but my humble opinion is that the SkyDweller is an outstanding watch from a technical point of view, it looks beautiful in pics but looks vulgar and OTT on the wrist. PP's version of a calendar watch is far more discreet. Regards Mick |
