How many of you refinish your own watches?

I've found I can keep all of my watches looking new with the proper products. The 3M assortment of polishing papers are indispensable for hand refinishing. For high polish I use the proper polishing compound and polishing wheel with a Dremel on low. Who else does this?

Not me. Be careful and good luck with your polishing.

It has crossed my mind I do have a Dremel and got some other stuff cape code scotch pads etc, but I decided against it. If you want your watches polishing leave it to the experts at service time.

If you threw away all the stuff you got there, it would still save you more in the long run, than polishing yourself.

Never tried it but I might have a go on a couple of my cheaper watches like my Seiko or old Tag quartz. Not on my Rolex or other high end watches though. Skilled professionals only for that.

I do this as well but use no machines. Everything by hand on watches no matter how long it takes

I do it by hand with Cape Cod cloths. Not worked on the brushed part of the bracelet yet though as it all seems ok.

I have used Bergeon sanding blocks and cape cod in some of my cheaper watch bracelets, but never on my Rolex; they work pretty well if you know how to use them
