I want to see how it compares to a DSSD. I'm on the fence.
The price is also interesting. |

Good job Rolex.... you ruined the only true tool watch you had! Size and cyclops are awful

The previous Sea Dweller 4000 was a slow seller. This new watch was designed to boost sales and it's perfect in that regard - the previous Sea Dwellers will fly off the shelves.

Cyclops no thanks. 43mm no thanks. Red line. Great. My money is safe and I am very happy with my Classic SD

We will be seeing many people "modding" this watch by removing the cyclops.

I am super bummed that they made it 43 mm and with a cyclops makes absolutely no sense had they just kept it at 40 mm and without the cyclops like it has always been made it would have been a perfect watch damn am I upset

For sure!
They've lost the plot with this. It will appeal to people who know nothing of the SD's great heritage, it's design, sizing...just everything! It's a fashion piece for the golf-course, not an under-the-radar, heritage tool watch. This is for non-WIS. As said elsewhere: "Behold, the ClownDweller!" |

Gotta love those lugs. They remind me of an explorer 2. I like the watch, and the size will work for many folks, I believe. More so than the dssd did. This new SD does seem a better proportioned overall. Nice job, Rolex.
Now, I think I'll go strap on my SD4K :)

as it stands now the website has no pictures of the dssd anymore.....what it does have however is 'text' under the sea dweller model that refers to the sea dweller and dssd. looks like the website update is in progress.
i would not be shocked if the dssd-b was discontinued considering they discontinued the 40mm sd4k perhaps what rolex will leave us is the sub, new SD & original dssd. we will know soon enough |

I think the clasp is the same as/similar to the DSSD, but have not seen any pics yet.

But I guess the SDc is gone. I don't see it. Was short lived ... could rise in value now. How many years was it in production 4-5? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
