I was looking at the guide to interpreting the moonphase complication when I realized that needing the launch codes and decoder ring to understand what the freaking moon is going to look like tonight makes this thing an albatross

Haha, the suspense is going to be too much to bear!

Here's a clue: a little fuller than the night before :)

I like it but for 26K it is too expensive and there is too much from JLC, AP, VC and even PP to ever buy this.

That could help resuscitate the comatose Cellini line into a true contender.

I just said the same thing out loud. I like it, just a hard sell at that price point.

Aren't Cellinis available used for about 1/2?

The Cellinis don't hold their value well, but this a neat watch. I'd wear it.

First thing I thought when I saw it was they were competing directly with the JLC MUT Moon.

Then I saw it was priced about 30% higher.

Really nice, but for that money (even if discounted) I'm probably putting my money elsewhere.

Imo best watch that came out for rolex Basel world. Love the moonphase using metorite, the date hand and the blue accent. I feel rolex did an amazing job with this watch. It's definitely a great looking watch. However, like with all Cellini models, i feel it is overpriced comparatively to other rolex models. At 26k i doubt many would even consider it, I probably wouldn't despite how much i like it. It would have to be closer to 16k to sell or ~13k to sell very well. I took a look at JLC MUT Moon, and why it has the same function. I feel it looks no where as good as this model. Hopefully, the secondary market makes up for this overpriced msrp.

its a beauty.

$25k is not an obstacle for the buyer of this type of watch.

whats a Moonpie from PP, AP, VC, JLC run at?

JLC just under $19k but can get a steeper discount at AD than on a Rolex

That is an actually beautiful watch. Love the meteorite full moon! But the complication on the moonphase is a disaster! So very unnatural & unintuitive. If they had gone toward a more traditional style moonphase then I'd be saving my money to buy that watch right now! The traditional style of the moonphase works because it's intuitive. Does Rolex HAVE no new ideas?

Because of the style of the moonphase complication... I think it's a complete dud.

I'd say the JLC is better looking. Plus it has a clear caseback. And it's cheaper. So no contest for me. But I do like this Cellini.

First impression was that the new Cellini Moonphase is beautiful ... then I read the fine print about the Cellini's implementation of the moonphase ... and turned the page.
