Black Bay DATE changed my opinions of Tudor

I have to admit, to everyone here on TRF, that I was never a fan of Tudor and partially "looked down" on the brand as Rolex's younger brother. Until today. I thought the Black Bay introduced a few years bag was a big miss. No date just killed me. Today, the release of the date models on the Black Bay puts this watch on my map. I would guess many Tudor naysayers in the past would probably agree. Congratulations Tudor, you have won a new fan with the addition of the date to the BB line-up. Not a fan of the look of the new BB Chrono, but don't know enough about it to really comment. But, Tudor has drawn me in. The black dial/steel bezel model with the date is just gorgeous.

This is definitely a watch I could learn to love.

It's not the date that does it for me, but it's a nice addition--and no cyclops.

Yes! That watch right there is a winner. Best of Basel IMHO

I agree too. The date without the cyclops bought me over.

Yes this is probably R/T's best offering at Basel. That and the steel Sky.

It's cool except the rivet bracelet. I prefer the bb 41 of all the releases this year.

A bit too much metal for me. You have to believe they will offer this in red, black and blue bezels soon, perhaps even by November (when they had announced mid-year releases in the past). Given the range of the BB line, seems unlikely this will be the only model with a date.

If that is a consideration and you want a date, I would wait a bit to see what develops.

(That's a question that could be asked of Tudor at the April Las Vegas GTG).

About two months back I purchased a Black Bay Black (No Date) and it has overtaken my other pieces for most days of the week. Even though it doesn't have a date it just has a certain charm about it on a plain black NATO strap. Casual and low key but top notch quality all around.

Now they threw a curveball with the two-tone and a date so I might have to add another one to the stable....
