If I had the SD4K, I'd be liquidating it right-fast to make room for the new one with the RED lettering. To me that's awesome. So, no, don't go thinking that the ole' SD4K is some investment watch.

i think the SD4K will hold its current value well, and quite possibly in 40-50 years if people are still into watches as collectibles, it may be one of a few modern Rolexes to stand out. Short term, some people will probably pay too much, as a result of hype and speculation.

Asking prices will absolutely increase off of speculation.
HARD CASH buy valuations will hold firm, then gradually increase as supply dries up. So...if you hate the new 50th SD, but still want a modern version of the SD, buy one now before it's too late...you will only have to pay more |

Watchfinder in the uk just emailed me asking if I still wanted to sell my SD4K (after enquiring on value 3 months ago)...
I've asked them to reconsider the offer. Will be interesting what they come back with.
