Raymond Weil Les Paul Freelancer

My son who is a guitar nut wants the Raymond Weil Les Paul Freelancer limited edition watch. I was thinking about buying it for him for graduation but I just can't see spending almost $5000 for a Raymond Weil watch (I am a Rolex guy) Do these limited edition ones hold there value any better ?
