AP ROO Diver comfortability and wearability

I've had my eye on the AP ROO Diver for some time, but haven't seen one in the flesh. At 42mm diameter and ~14mm thick, how does it wear? Does it wear like a 44mm Panerai Luminor Marina auto? Or a little smaller? It looks quite large lug to lug, which might be a concern with my relatively thin ~6.75" wrist.

The silver dial model is quite striking and not as common.

Rubber strap makes it very comfortable.

The Diver is a super comfortable watch to wear - the high quality rubber strap helps a great deal. One thing to keep in mind if you have a 6.75 to 7" wrist, you will most likely need an extra hole on the Diver rubber strap(28mm at lugs and 24mm at buckle) to fit your wrist. I have owned the FC Diver and white CE Diver in the past, and on both I had to get an extra hole to get them to fit just right on my 7" wrist.

I would say it wears about 44 mm. That said, it's very comfortable as the rubber tang strap is the best I have ever worn. You can really tighten it to your upper wrist without discomfort due to its width. The result is a watch that doesn't move and wears well, if a little large for some wrists.

My wrist is 7". All things considered I have found it a touch large for my taste but don't let that discourage you. I have a taste for smaller stuff.

My wrist is actually slightly less than 6.75." Are you saying that I'll need an extra hole on the Diver rubber strap to make it fit properly? Did you punch a hole in the strap? Or buy a short strap? How much are genuine OEM AP Diver straps?

I think you'll be fine honestly. Maybe source a short strap from AP. Plenty of people here with your wrist size wearing AP 44s

Remember the diver can be worn a little higher up the wrist as well which gives you a larger wrist size.

Adam, I got an extra hole punched in the straps that came on the FC and CE Divers that I owned in the past. Those straps came with the watches bnib so they were just the regular length. A friend of mine recently ordered a grey Diver strap and it cost approx $280 usd if I remember correctly.

I have a 6.5" wrist and found the Diver quite comfortable. I wore the tang buckle on the last hole and it fit me very well.





And a Panerai Luminor 44mm for comparison.

I've worn plenty of 44mm Panerai back in the day, so I should be able to pull off the AP Diver.

I wouldn't punch an extra hole in a strap, especially a rubber one. $280 isn't bad for the AP Diver strap. For comparison purposes, the Aquanaut composite strap is about $300 and that sucker needs to be cut to size.

So, AP Diver vs. PP Aquanaut 5167A?

It looks great on your wrist. Standard length strap? For reference, I wore the tang buckle on the last hole with standard Panerai straps, so I should be good with the standard length AP Diver strap.

Sits well on the wrist.
Strong wrist presence.
You feel the weight.
It really make a statement.

Yes, that's the standard strap. I thought I would need the small, but the last hole on the standard strap turned out to be perfect.

I think you'll find the Diver to be a perfect fit for you. Go for it, it's an awesome watch!

Awesome. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a pre-owned silver dial model with the sapphire crystal caseback. I'd hate to receive the watch, the regular length strap not fit and have to scramble for a short length strap.

don't worry about the strap. It will be fine. you will find 2 holes that fit you. one being tightly around your wrist, the other is kind of loose. but because of the size of the watch, even when loose, it won't move around. I regularly switch between 2 holes during the day and comfortable with either.

I recall similar situations with Panerai and regular length straps. Maybe too much flop with loose straps/thick cased autos. It's all good!

strap is best rubber strap i have ever worn...watch wear 'flat' on wrist

mind you i have a 7.5" wrist

AP diver is super comfy. It's pretty thin at 14mm. A lot
more wearable and comfortable than my former d-blue.
I think you will be on the last hole
on the strap or as others have suggested , get a new hole
punched.
They are great watches hope you take the plunge.

I had 3 of the nicest 44mm Pams, 233, 028 and 082, and have the ceramic diver, the AP is just so much cooler, of course if you can I would suggest getting in ceramic but I know they are much more expensive and hard to find, was sure wi was doing a good "investment" when I got mine for 20% off, is sure to stay for very long in the stable

As a reference, the OEM Panerai rubber strap is super comfortable.

I'm not punching a hole in a rubber strap. From the feedback above, I should be ok with the standard length rubber strap.

Youthful and sporty...I totally agree!!! Totally my style too.

I'm still learning towards the silver dial. I've had plenty of black dial watches and wouldn't mind something different.

Slightly off topic guys. What color rubber straps are available for the Diver? Rubber straps on ROO Diver model #15710ST watches, i.e. white, blue, green, yellow and orange?

Are the exotic straps like regular gator and hornback gator on ROO chronograph model #26470ST watches available to purchase?

It wears big and has a lot of wrist presence. The back is flat so that might be comfortable on your wrist, or it may not. It didn't work for me.

I wear my 15703st very comfortable on a flat 6.3" on an XS Rubber strap. You might need one as well depending on how tight you like your watch. It's a huge piece with a lot of wrist presence and while my 116234 wears more comfortable the Diver is still no issue comfort wise what so ever!

Hey guys, I finally got a chance to try one on. Nah, it's not for me. It's YUGE with a lot of wrist presence. It definitely wears like a 44mm Panerai. The regular length strap did not work for me. I was on the last hole and it was too loose. Thanks for all of your feedback. I can put this one to rest!

They are definitely a few MM bigger in look and feel, not shocked, I normally fall in the same boat with 7 inch wrists and these watches. However I do have a couple 44mm panerais, but something about those just feels different. Who knows.

Just picked up my diver yesterday, and compared to my 44mm PAM 212, I would say it wears much more comfortably and a little smaller.
