Congratulations on the new watch; or should I say born again!!! I must say that I left my older Omega Seamaster in the locker at the health club when I was heading to work. I called three hours later and it had been turned into the front desk and they had it waiting for me.

I was sitting on 14th tee box watching the 13th hole as the early groups rolled through on Saturday afternoon. There were some seats which were not being used, and as is custom at Augusta, we used them while their owners were on other parts of the course. I just completed eating a sandwich and decided to put on some sunscreen, because the sun was starting to really get hot as it was around 2 pm. As per usual, i took off my watch when i put on sunscreen and placed it between my legs in the seat.

After about 30-45 minutes my uncle and I got up out of our seats and proceeded to walk over to the 7th hole to watch the leaders come through (where we left our seats earlier in the day).

When we got to the 7th hole it hit me.....I didn't have the watch on my wrist. My heart immediately sank as i thought, OMG i've lost my watch forever. So, i made a quick u turn and started back to the 14th tee box. Anyone who's been at the Masters or any other golf tournament know it's not easy to get from place to place sometimes, due to having to wait for golfers to come through, hit shots, then allow Fans (ie, Patrons @ Augusta) through on the cross walk. All in all, it probably took me 20 minutes to get back, so i was away from the seat for close to 35-40 minutes.

It took what felt like forever to get back to the 14th tee box. As i walked up, i noticed people sitting all around where i was previously sitting and i just knew my watch was gone. As i drew closer, i realized the seats my uncle and I were sitting in still were empty, so i was feeling very hopeful.

As my luck would have it, my watch was sitting in the base of the seat, crystal downward just as i left it. I picked it up, put it on my wrist and thanked my lucky stars. I just knew the money i have earmarked for a new Daytona was going to be used to replace my 116610.

Crisis averted!
It could happen to anyone. Great you got it back!

Yes indeed. So glad you got your watch only because you were there did you get it back. You won't forget again to put your watch back on I'm sure.

I remember when I left my omega planet ocean in the seat pocket whilst I got some shut eye. Got woke by my wife when we were landing and got off the plane in a haze. Realised when I got clear of customs and went to see the airline, the plane had already left to its next destination. 9 hours later got a phone call and they'd found it. That was heart breaking because I had so much sentiment to that watch.

This could only have happen at The Masters. Augusta is the Cathedral of Golf and golf tradition. One can literally leave stuff in one of the chairs for the entire day and return to find all there, untouched. It's a truly incredible place. The honor and tradition is incredible. Congrats on having a chance to experience the greatest sporting event there is, The Masters, and to finding your watch, untouched. Awesome

My personal mantra is not to take off my watch unless I absolutely must. When I am outside, I will apply sunscreen with my watch on.
