A stamped steel clasp is nothing short of pathetic for a several thousand $ watch.
The bracelet on the DSSD looks intentionally disproportionate.
Lightning bolt second hand on Milgauss is cheesier than the name.
YM2 is superseded in ugliness only by leopard font Daytona.
Only .0001% of Rolex wearers use the rotating bezel as intended. 99.999% obsess over alignment.

Leopard Daytona lol, the "leppie" and his friends Rollie, Hulk and bluesy. BMW steering wheel and beads bracelet cannot be unseen...

I use mine exactly how it is intended. Especially when my intent is to time my pizza.

Mid price is relative to the wearer, any watch over £1K is out of range for most people on planet Earth.

My main hate is one word replies.

Someone writes in asking what Rolex should they buy next and the resident Einsteins will respond with Sub or GMT etc. That's it, so reasons given for the choice, just one meaningless word.

If you did that in your job you would be fired, so why do it here.

Regards

Mick

- Honey, were are you going with all your watches?
- I'm going out to the car to take photos infront of the steering wheel, ok? Leave me alone.

I'm happy Rolex doesn't do exhibition casebacks.

I genuinly hate the faux vintage on Tudor

I dislike the roman numeral DJII

For that matter I dislike all DJII. Happy to see DJ41 really is 40mm.

I dislike the vintage Paul Newman Daytona, though I love the Big Red

I do like precious metal Rolexes. They are the only brand able to pull it off good on a tool watch (with the exception of the YG speedy which I find really sexy).

A SS Rolex is a tool watch. A diamond encrusted Rolex is jewellery.

Diamonds on a man's wrist look like you borrowed your wife's watch and/or you have to make up for the size of certain body parts.

The Cellini line is amongst the most boring collections of any watch brand.

The clasp on the ceramic Sub is too large.

indeed so and very interesting

Now seriously... there are people who are really gonna listen.. But most people come for the debate but they already have something decided in their head. Sometimes i see no point in going the extra mile..

The guy asks, for example, "SUB or EXP II"... well if you are not really diving neither really exploring caves.. just pick one."

Thats why some people answer with one word.

But hey.. this thread is to share your unpopular opinion.. maybe not to debate them.

chears Mick

Actually they still drill them; they just fill them afterwards, from my understanding.

My unpopular opinion of the day is:

Rolex Always on OEM.

No Rubberb... No Everest.. no Hirsch. Nothing !

If you want leather.. get OEM. If you want some rubber.. now you have Oysterflex.

Don't like any vintage Rolex models. They all look rinky-dink and tatty. In fact, I find the whole vintage worship thing nauseating and mad.

I prefer the DD2 dial options to the DD40 dial options. Particularly like the swivelling Arabics on the DD2, they just feel warmer. The DD40 dials seem emotionally distant bland and unexciting, mostly.

Tudor's fixation with retro design just feels hollow and superficial, although they make a good job of a bad idea.

Rolex Everose is not as nice-looking as JLC rose gold.

Prefer the white dial SkyDweller to the blue dial version.

I like diamonds and two-tone on Subs.

I loved the DSSD even before the bandwagon began over the James Cameron one.

the Cellini range feels forced and speculative. Yet I do like the Cellini Prince with the display back.

The Rolex rose gold looks ridiculous. Way too red/pink and it just looks cheap, like a Michael Kors watch.

At 6'5" and 240 I wear a Daytona. Now you have me doubting my masculinity. Damn it... should've never read this thread. Ha!

Great thing about this forum is the diversity of opinions, even when they're dead wrong. ;-)

This is fun! A great read, if for no other reason than to prove there is no single Rolex reference that everybody can agree they like.

Here goes:

1) People who own eight Subs and GMTs with a black dial and black bezel. They all look the same!

2) People who buy multiple new Rolexes on the same day. Do they also buy several new cars at once?

3) People who buy the exact same watch three times because they already flipped them twice.

4) "My Rolex and My XXX" pictures. Wouldn't it be more honest to just have a "My Rolex and My Net Worth" picture?

5) The words "sing" and "stunning" on TRF. You should be able to find another way to describe a watch that appeals to you without using the word sing. And not every watch is stunning. Every BLNR looks exactly like every other one.

6) People who shame those who want their watches to perform to Rolex specs. Rolex knew how many seconds there are in a day, and chose to guarantee +/- 2. Get over it.

7) People who hate on the platinum Daytona bezel who have never seen one in person. If *I* like it, you should too!
