IMO - If they would have released the anniversary model in a 42MM with no cyclops, my tune would change. An extra 2mm after 50 years not so bad in "evolution". To put a cyclops on it, well you just made it a Submariner on steroids.
That's just my opinion. I think Rolex reserves the right to do what they want with that model considering they invented it in the first place . Every 43mm SD they produce will be sold though. It satisfies the current trend of big watches very well and those who always wanted a larger submariner. It's a winner to many, perhaps just not the WIS who only had the SD4000 as the last model with closest ties to the past. |

I think we know why they only put demo models out a these events, the smudges really show how grasped and grappled with these watches are.
