Your first Rolex?
What model & reference was your first Rolex, and do you still have it?
Mine was the Daytona 116520 with black index. Still have it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm not new to the game but I'm relatively new to ownership. My first is the best modern reference and it will not leave. Possibly working on getting my second in so I can actually shout "INCOMING" here for the first time!

My first was bought in the Army in 1974, a TT Datejust 1601. I wore it daily for 20 years but sold it when I started seeing the same model, or fakes, on every waiter in every restaurant. Now I wished I kept it.

Got my first less than a month ago, and it's my grail watch. The GMT Master II Pepsi.

My first was a 1007 oyster perpetual. I don't have it anymore. I wear a 16600 Sea Dweller now and will never part with it.

My first was a GMT Master II bought in 2002 to celebrate the birth of my son. I wore it every day for about 6-7 years and then added a dress watch and a few more casual watches. The Rolex didn't get much wrist time as I wore the dress watch more for work and thought the GMT was too expensive for a casual beater. Had considered selling it but decided against it as it was my son's birth year and figured I would give it to him when he graduates University. Glad I didn't sell as the prices on this watch have skyrocketed. I have since sold off all of the crap and put together a really nice collection of icons and the GMT fits in really well as the beater so gets a lot more wrist time. Originally had the black bezel but I have since added the Pepsi.

I had a 2004 14060M 2 Liner which is long since sold. I do regret selling since it seems prices have gone up. I think I only paid around 3k for it at the time.

10/2001 midsize two tone 35mm yacht-master with grey dial. In summer of 2011 I sold it due to hard times plus the watch was fixed from salt water and needed a new dial. I was not a watch person back than and I thought this was good enough to have to show success.

I purchased my first 7 months ago, so yes, I still own it. I also plan to never part with it. I might flip other watches, but not this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
