You can believe what you want though. I tell you what, we are close enough, let's meet on 35 for a bit a drag shall we?

I think it is worth venting.

Harvey, if you look back through the history, I'm pretty sure it was Dan who posted first about coming to London and that got the ball rolling...I remember Bo was gonna take time off work to be there as well as the UK members.

It's all well and good that UK members can meet up but we could do that in October/November/December whenever. A quick train or car journey aint gonna kill anyone and if they miss one through personal circumstances then they could always be present at the next.

Members from overseas can't really do that.

I know we are on an overpriced luxury watch forum but it's a bit presumptious to think that a member can just hop across the Atlantic to suit a a few members just down the road!

I guess I'm looking into it a little too much but you have to admit, it hardly bathes any of us English members in golden light does it??????

Where to begin.....

-Which one should I buy the A or the B?
-Should I buy/sell/trade my Rolex?
-What will you wear today/this weekend?
-Which Rolex is the best investment?
-Follow up: Daytona value forecasts, if I sell later blabla
-What car do you drive?

Not really repetitive (or in a way it is) new members who use the open discussion section for their introduction.. what's up with that?? Isn't that what the new members section is for?

@Quicksilver: that's not very nice to specifically link the thread in question, may have given the topic starter quite an awkward feeling now if he would read this. Better just refer to a certain subject in general, I'd say.

I do understand what you are saying, but these things are being said openly in the thread anyway. If not, I would not have linked it. And the things being said in the thread are more explicit.

Even as a surgeon, I don't know how to do every procedure in my field since there is so much sub-specialization. Even people who knows the modern Rolex may have no idea about the vintage models. Everyday is a learning day for anyone and yes it is repetitive at time. If you don't like to answer those questions then skip over and pick one that you like. No point looking down on those who asked those basic questions. Everyone came to the world naked and naive.

so my question to my fellow members is... which thread makes you yawn? moan? or groan?? (jj that is not groan in pleasure on sight of a sheep wearing a platty! lol)

some of the threads i yawn at are...

how do i clean my watch?
oh god i have a scratch!
i can only get 5% discount!
can i get it wet?
its 0.04 secs a month too slow...
i dont wear my watch everyday, why does it stop?
if i buy said watch, will it make me rich?
is my gmtII with the 3186 movement rarer/better?

etc etc you get the picture...

yes, i do understand that i dont need to read every thread...

on a constructive note maybe there should be a sticky on most common threads, or on how to use the search facility...

ps i hope i havent offended anyone in any way, shape or form.

The good news for new people is that this forum is civil. I am part of other forums including motorcycles and cars and newbies get blasted for repeat questions.

I regularly check this forum since 2005. After almost 4 years, I can not count anymore how many repetitive threads, but I totally agree this is "public forum", people come and go.
For me, I only check the thread title that I put interest on. So, I never yawn. If you are boring with 'Show what you wear' thread, just skip that thread and you will not yawn. A lot of other members are interested with that thread. And this thread may stop some of them to post those kind of threads and we may loose the fun in the future.

I too have wondered why my watch stops after a couple days of disuse. I figured my battery would last longer than that.
