16570 With a Suit?

Hey all - Considering a 16570 Polar. I loved how it looked in person, but not sure if I will tire of it as my "main watch." I wear suits most days to work and I think the size and white dial give it a more dress/sport edge, but I wanted to get other people's opinions who have owned the watch.

Here is a picture of one I tried on about a year ago:

In a word, no. It's a sports watch.

Why not?

If you like it then wear it.

If you genuinely need to ask, you should not be wearing a suit.

I know this is the reaction of many, but so are all the professional watches, and it's hard to argue the Explorer (114270 or 214270 or 1016 even) looks bad with a normal business suit.

Well played. I am deciding between the 16570 and the new 214270. I currently wear an old Hamilton as my daily wear and a Sinn as my sport watch. I want to go down to one. Compromises will have to be made.

Agreed, I wear my Sub, BLNR or my Daytona at the office.

Wear what you like, it is a fine looking watch. If you disagree then there are many other choices.

Why not, who cares. Short of a tuxedo/black tie rock on.

16570 With a Suit?

I wear suits to work in a professional banking environment. I alternate between a black 16570, a blue fluted roman DJII, and a champagne dial DJ 16233.

Edit to add:
Many of my coworkers are wearing smart watches, fitbits, quartz watches, cheap watches, or no watches at all.

Mick its 2017 not 1917. He is wearing a suit presumably for work, and not to an evening event.

OP if you think it looks good and feel comfortable wearing it, then go for it!

Looks great with a suit, or any attire, for that matter.

If you like flip flops, you should wear that with your suit too.

Wouldn't be my 1st choice, the white polar 16570 is pretty sporty imo despite being my pick of the 5 digit exp 2's....just doesn't seem very dressy. But you seem to be rockin' it in your pic OP, just enjoy and wear as you please.

If you couldn't wear a several thousand dollar watch with a suit, I think that would lessen its appeal. Just my opinion, of course.

The 16570 works perfectly with a suit!

Disagree.

It absolutely would go with a suit.

I see people comfortable wearing all types of watches with, and without suits.

Ultimately, people need to set their own style, and what either works or doesn't when it comes to what they feel comfortable wearing.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but.....We have several members here from across the pond who put us Americans to shame when it comes to etiquette. Question, what was up when the Queen was visiting the victims of the most recent attack???? The others visiting the victims didn't even stand up when she entered the room????!!!!

Definitely NOT. If I were in a suit, I would wear a proper dress watch. But that's just me.

I can rehash the fitbit/apple watch argument. I can talk about that one coworker you have who definitely wears a gaudy Deisel watch. I can bring up that James Bond wore a sub, on an ill-fitting nato, with a tux, and fucking crushed it.

But I'm just gonna go with this: I promise you that literally no one will notice. Not a one.

A 16610 or 116610 Submariner is also a sports watch but it goes very well with a suit.

Having said that, the 16570 white dial, triangle tipped orange second hand looks too casual for a suit.

Okay, I'll play. Please articulate the universally-recognized criteria for what constitutes a "proper dress watch".
