Help with next watch decision (JLC vs IWC)
Went around looking at some watches today, and have narrowed my choices down to 2.
JLC Reverso Classic Duoface (would go for the larger one on the left)... IWC Big Pilot... Tough choice. The JLC would fill the dress watch niche for me, as I don't have one of those yet. Plus it's 2 practically 2 watches in one. But I also love the Big Pilot, and would wear that one more regularly. It is a bit large for my 6.3" wrist (and I think the pic makes it look larger on me than it is), but I think I can pull it off. But does it look ridiculously large on me? The lugs are actually exactly flush with the ends of my wrists if looking straight down. Also, the Big Pilot is more expensive. Thanks for any suggestions! |

With a 6.3" wrist, the BP will be too big, but then size preference is very personal. I've had a 5002 and a 5004 and sold them eventually because of size (my wrist is 6.75"). Also, due to its size, the watch attracts too much unwanted attention.
So btw the two, I would go with the Reverso, though not any of JLC's current models. Sent from iPhone using Tapatalk |

Also, just curious which Reverso you like better than the current ones? Thanks! |

I'm usually careful with my watches so that wasnt an issue. The watch movement is also bit noisy, some may not be bothered by it. I prefer the recently discontinued reversos such as the tribute 1931. Sent from iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice Master Cal. Great value for sure - how do you like it? I've always wondered if it's a little cluttered, and I think i would prefer the dates around the moonphase, like the MUT Moon.
Will have to check it out in person one day. |

I prefer the JLC but think you want the IWC.

Big Pilot if that's the Reverso being considered. And it's a BIG Pilot, not a small pilot. Looks fine on your wrist if you ask me. I had one for 5-6 years, I have small wrists too and imho it wore smaller than other 45-47mm watches.

I've always wanted a Reverso until I tried one on. I've been thinking about a Big Pilot myself. Did you pick one yet?

They're totally different, obviously. My taste is with the IWC. I love that flight history.

The BP looks too big for you. The strap says it all.
Reverso is a great watch. Jim

Big pilot for sure. I got mine for an occasional wear piece, but ended up consistently wearing it more than any other watch i own. There is just something special about it, plus the new dial in the current release is quite an improvement over the past variation.
It wears much smaller than a 46mm too. My AP 44mm wears much bigger Also, it doesn't look too big on you, its supposed to be big. I would however get the shorter strap as the regular length one looks too long. |

Reverso.
Put it on a Perlon strap and you can dress it down rather nicely for casual daily wear. |

JLC suits your wrist better and big case watches on a small wrist can not only be uncomfortable but can ruin the look of a nice watch (lugs hanging over your wrist) Two very different types of watch but I would say the JLC is the better choice.

Thanks for all the feedback! I have not come any closer to a decision between the two yet, as I am still torn between them.
To make matters more complicated, there are two other IWC watches that have stirred my interest greatly.... Portuguese 5007 Pilot Chronograph 3337 I realize in that pic that the 3777 looks rather large...almost larger than the Big Pilot pic I posted earlier. Rest assured that while it definitely fills my wrist, the lugs are pretty flush with each end of my wrist when looking directly down on it. |
