Loving the clasp compared to my Sub.

Better clasp, better lume. Omega is the best bang for the money!
Huge congrats on this classic Omega!

And indeed it is a better bang for the buck. I love my Sub and it meant a lot to me to buy a Rolex for personal reasons, but after wearing the SMP for a few days, I gotta say I'd steer anyone who asked in Omega's direction. (Edited to add) Well only some Omega's: a cruise of eBay suggests that Omega has some real difficulties with keeping their line stable. Frankly I'm kind of shocked they ended production on this watch and the white face GMT. Yeah the Planet Ocean is a beautiful watch, and I'll enjoy owning one someday, but one of the things I like about Rolex: my sub looks like my dad's sub and so on. Well at least until this year's Basel. I am very disappointed that the Sub is going the way of the big case GMT IIc. No matter how I try, I can't like that watch - and the new Subs just don't do it for me. In the end, glad I own both. Need to get one of those Seiko divers now :)

"msf",
have you read this Comparative Review of the Omega Seamaster Professional Model 2254.50.00 VS. The Rolex Submariner 16610 Y Series? If not, I can recommend that review highly. BTW.: If you like, you can add your first name in the avatar field by going to "USER CP" in the blue bar top left and choose "Edit Your Details". It's just a suggestion since somehow addressing you "msf" seems rather impersonal?

Modified accordingly. Been msf on forums for a long time - perhaps I need to change my legal name :)

The 2254 is a classic, perhaps one of the nicest divers ever designed. Too bad Omega discontinued it!

Two great watches. I like a chunky watch, so I wish the Omega was a little thicker. It's hard to beat though.
