Rolex SubC date or no date as beater?

I'm down to a Rolex SubC no date (114060) and a Rolex SubC with date (116610LV).

I consider myself a Patek guy rather than a Rolex guy so I thought I'd post my poll/question here to get your take given this is meant to be a beater rather than an aspirational Rolex.

This watch would primarily be used for pool and beach both at home (Southern California) and on vacation, as well as any event where my current daily wear, a 5712/1A, is too delicate for me to want to wear (helping with my son's little league baseball practice, playing golf, etc.). It would also be the ONLY watch I would take on vacation as I don't like bringing multiple watches on vacations.

My Panerai has a polished case and a leather strap, so not a pool or a beach watch, and is too large for active wear. My Bell & Ross lacks the gravitas of a Rolex for evening wear (such as on vacation when I only take one watch) and is also large and not an in-house movement/not as fine of a watch. Looking to keep these pieces for variety, but add a Rolex for the reasons stated.

My current watches are:

Patek 5712/1A
Patek 5035g
Jaeger LeCoutre Master Moon
Panerai 359 on leather strap (has date)
Bell & Ross BR01-92 on rubber strap (no date)

p.s. Sorry for the duplicate thread, I forgot to add the poll the first time

Wrong forum, but I'd go for the non date. Not a massive fan of two tone watches.

IŽd go for a 116610 LN. The LV looks like a toy watch to me.

Non date, problem with Rolex is that some might want to steal it if you vacation in cool places with a lot of theft, Paris for example, I never wore one of my Rolex at night, once had to go by metro to the center, for papers for my wife, there was huge traffic so we took the metro, I had my sub but well hidden under the sleeves, lots of agressions in Paris. For vacationing I would not use a Rolex, too recognizable, but hey if you want one go for it

The ND Sub would be the watch for me as a beater.

The second option in your poll is the 116613LN, and the second option in the text of your post is 116610LV, so I'm not really sure which watch is up against the 114060. I guess in any case I'd go 114060

Sub 114060 is perfect for your description.
Nice collection.

I'm biased since I own the SubC ND already but go with the 114060!

I voted 114060, but I am biased. Mine handles golf and all other types of activities. Plus no need for the date when you are on vacation.

If you don't need the date, go with the 114060. The Sub date is more useful as a daily wearer, especially if you need to know the date on a regular basis. But both great watches!

add some color and spice all around to your daily life .'

Your poll doesn't line up with your post. You offer the TT as an option in the poll and the hulk as an option in the post. However, I would recommend at sub date ref 116610LN that is the ceramic bezel black dial model. Perfect daily watch, pool watch, etc. etc. When people say "beater" I automatically think G-Shock. If this watch is going to get banged around and scuffed and scratched up a lot, you may want to consider something more rugged.

I have to agree the sunburst dial is gorgeous

But overall I prefer SS, even if your photo does make a good case for the TT.

Would you consider an explorer II in either white or black dial? You get the time the date and the GMT. You can wear it at the pool, under a shirt, etc. most versatile watch I own.

Given your particular needs, a GMT Master would be a better pick. Essentially the same ruggedness as the Submariner, with handy traveler features.

However, I am inclined to suggest an Explorer or Oyster Perpetual. They'll hold up just as well for things like shock and water resistance, but would blend in much more smoothly when it comes to evening wear.
