Btw, OP posted and ran. And another one of his posts was hating on platinum Amex cards. Pretty simple, if it bothers you just keep it to yourself without being an internet tough guy.
On the letter hand, I'm kind of glad he posted this thread since the responses have been pretty on point

I enjoy beautiful things and sometimes you see some real nice stuff here.
Don't see it at all as being pretentious or showing of. Just sharing the better things in life with often most like minded people.

Do you know how ridiculous you would look if you started telling people on the streets that their sports cars and designer labels were pretentious while wearing a Rolex on your wrist?

Obviously most of us here have some disposable wealth and like to buy other luxuries and high quality items as well as watches so it is natural to share them and give each other ideas.

I come to the forum to see the nice things. I expect to see nice things here. I'm a pretty frugal guy with a small income, but I have a Rolex. It was a life goal of mine and I was able to make it happen.

I might not ever have a Rolls Royce or go on an African Safari, but I sure like looking at the pics of the folks that have. I don't see it as pretentious.

I don't have any caviar. Would it be pretentious of me to take a picture of my old Rolex and a box of Mrs Paul's fish sticks?

Does Champaign go with caviar? I would think the salt would throw off the bubbly.

I was surprised that my old "Your Rolex And A Tire" thread didn't get more traction.

Everyone here has a common interest we all share.. Rolex watches. Nobody is being measured by their salary, profession or other possessions. Clearly there are people of various financial status. Some like to share their enjoyment of other luxury items here. It doesn't bother me at all.

Actually, I kind of like it. I know I'll never have some of the things that others are posting and enjoying. I'll live vicariously through them.

Now post pics of some of your private jets.

"Traction." lol

I do think some of the completely gratuitous shots of expensive s&#t is, uh, gratuitous, but I don't mind it in context. I think, just like I wouldn't have a picture of my Daytona as my Rennlist avatar, I also wouldn't choose to have a picture of my Ferrari/Porsche/AMG MB/BMW as my avatar on here. But when I go to "My Rolex and My Expensive Car/Boat/Vacation/Summer House/Island/Private Jet/Etc.," it's fair game.

Swan lol. I only eat swan if it is stuffed with Cornish game hen and drizzled with 24k gold gravy.
