It's true. My dog had been pacing the floor every night since Friday looking for someplace safe to settle while every yahoo within 1/4 mile lights off canons. Tonight he finally decided that the bathtub was a safe place to hold up and wait it out.

Doesn't bother my dog at all. Thunder doesn't bother her either. From day one when thunder would occur we wouldn't coddle my dog or pay it any mind. Now she knows it's not something to worry about. Dogs take their cues from your behavior. If you respond by comforting them, they tend to believe there is reason to be concerned.

They must. Just boom with no whistle or rocket. Fireworks with any kind of explosion are illegal here.
My dog never had a problem with them until he turned 6. He's 7 now almost 8. It's been tough on him this year.
I even bought pet calming nuggets and drops made of camomile etc. but they don't work at all.

Mine is freaking out too. It's illegal in my town to light fireworks but you can buy them....... it's dry as hell in AZ and these jackwagons are launching rockets in a neighborhood. I hosed my roof down just in case.

The humvee I was riding in got hit by an IED when I was in Iraq. It didn't survive the experience. I still love fireworks. They are nothing like military grade high explosives, and don't evoke any ill emotions.

Have you tried the thunder shirt or vest?? We used to have a lab that freaked out at thunder or fireworks. We had to pretty heavily medicate him on July 4th. The vest worked great. He didn't mind shotguns and retrieving birds. Was really odd. So we put 2 and 2 together. His life jacket when hunting acted as a thunder shirt of types best we could figure out.

We go to municipal fireworks now and just save the hundreds of dollars we used to spend. Take to dog we have now (standard poodle) with us. She doesn't mind them at all.

My bird dog was never bothered hunting or by fireworks, but would hide whenever it was stormy.
