rolex is a few years too late on the big watch trend that breitling banked off of in my opinion... i personally believe this watch is too big. I believe this trend is going to burn out rather quickly than fade away slow! Rolex should have made it a little smaller.

It's a big watch so indeed it does look big but it is up to you as to whether it looks too big.
In my opinion I think there are a few other Rolex diver references that would suit your wrist size better.

It's a big diver's watch. I think they purposely designed it that way. Unless you are into dress watches worn underneath long sleeved shirts, it looks totally fine to me. Even dress watche are pretty big these days compared to older ones. ;)

I think it does look too big, and I am in a similar situation, although my wrists are a bit bigger.

I agree with this. I managed to get one of the first SD43's without being able to see and try it first. My first impression was that it was too big. So I put it in the cupboard for 2 months. I have thought about it for a while and now I have tried it again. I think I am on the limit of size, as per the pic.

This would have been the perfect dive watch for me if it was like 41.5mm and no cyclops...maybe I am simply not the target market?

I also tried the previous one, and it really suits me better I think.

Close up pictures always make watches look bigger. Personally I think it looks good on you, big watch but totally wearable.

Wear it for a few weeks and then put on a regular sub and you'll feel like you're borrowing your girlfriend's watch. Even on my 6 1/4 wrist the 44mm ym ii i personally believe looks perfect and as much as i like subs they feel small now.

40mm = old man's frail wrist size.
ftfy. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 44mm on a 6.25 would look beyond absurd IMO, and I am younger.

This is the second ageist post of yours I've seen. It's unacceptable behaviour.

I think it looks great. If you are asking though most of the time you think it is too large. There are way too many cool watches on the market not to have something that you think is perfect. I am sure that a Sub-C ND or a Hulk would work. With the additional money buy a pre-owned Speedmaster.

Too big or Too small is an individual opinion. I think it's right on the edge of what you can pull off - but again really up to you. I think my GMT looks too small on me, others think it's just right and the folks on here who love the classics may even thing 40mm is too big. I think you're good either way.

A few weeks ago , I started a thread with a similar dilemma but the opposite a watch that I thought looked too small on me , I got mixed opinions ,at the end go with your feeling , when you have a doubt it's because you're not 100%,I ended up selling the watch.

Regarding the SD43 honestly I think it looks a bit big on you but like I said if you like it wear it and forget about what others think.

I think it is a big watch. Wrist size is irrelevant. I think the question is if that's your style?

Agreed.

Rock the look or move on.

IMO, the watch looks fine on the OP but I probably would draw the line at that size.
Great for casual wear
