Do you agree or disagree that financing your watch adds to your total debt?

Do you agree or disagree that your debt to available credit ratio directly affects your credit score?

Do you agree or disagree that a lower credit score costs you money in the way of loans and percentage rates, while higher credit scores saves you money?
Unless you're trying to buy a house, car, or some other large purchase in the near term does any of this really matter that much? If you're not planning on taking out any large loans in the near future and have the credit and income capacity to make the payments I don't see why a slight hit to your credit score matters.

Stolen or Damaged

What happens if the watch gets damaged or stolen? You will still owe those 12, 24, 36, or 40 months of payments.

HARD CASH

Slap it down at the AD for the best deal..

Shows you mean business and don't need to worry about silly payments..

I picked up a new DJ II rhodium dial a few months ago with a significant discount and 0% financing at an AD in Dallas. Impossible to say no to that situation.

There are a number of promotions an AD can offer you, with one being 0% and this is an option I would definately consider - but only if I had the capital available to buy it outright anyway. Would weigh it out against any discount offered for cash purchase for example 10%, compared to interest free payments over 3 years for instance. I would fancy my chances on returning more than 10% over the 3 years on the capital in funds/shares (even bearing in mind that this capital would be decreasing every month).

I have only ever had credit in the form of a mortgage, which was paid off 20+ years ago, I have never had the need to have a credit card, and when talking to some friends, about 0% finance (generally, not specifically) it was the consensus that I would not be able to get the deal as my credit score would be non existent, and as such, too much of a risk to a credit provider. Do you agree that this would be the case?

1) If you are afraid of credit how will you ever establish credit?
2) Who says you have to make it 40 payments? Pay it off sooner.
3) Once you pay it off your available credit dollar amount will be higher. Therefore helping your credit score.
Over the years I have financed 5 watches. Several pieces of furniture, appliances, cars etc. My credit score is 797.

That's no different to if you paid up front and it got damaged or stolen. The loss is the same just with financing it is staggered.

I don't think anyone would fault you for financing at 0%.
But, I'd rather put cash on the table and try and get a discount though.
Now, 0% and a discount... That's ideal
