It will keep happening. About 15% per year, forever. Hope that helps.

Not a surprise as most Submariners tend to gradually rise in price once discontinued.

Just wear it and love it....dont worry so much about price it if it goes up that is a just another plus.

An infamous YouTube personality has always recommended Rolex steel stunners...this is why...

I thought it was discontinued about 7 years ago. I'd be surprised if there are any new ones about.

Tony has a lot of them for sale. Here are a few new old stock ones and a lot of preowned.

IMHO the 16610/LV is the finest "classic" style Submariner of all time, and hence the continued interest.

They sure seem to be continuing to climb in desirability and value.
Here's mine on a glidelock bracelet.

The glidelock really upgrades a classic Sub considerably.

It makes a nice compromise between the all black LN & the modern all green LV aka the Hulk.

That's what I'd need, have been thinking of flipping mine partly because of the fit, a glodelock would help.

Unfortunately it is my only Rolex at the moment.

Don't do it. Simply source a glidelock.

Just because a lot of "trusted sellers" have a bunch of them at severely jacked-up prices doesn't necessarily mean they're actually selling them. I've seen a good number posted for months and months...and months.

I guess they can try. Just like the day the SD43 was announced they suddenly jacked up the price of their 116600's by about 30%. Again, no guarantee these are selling either.

But what do I know. The only thing that will cause the prices to continue to rise are if people continue to pay the premium. I've been wanting to pick up a NOS one for awhile but I refuse to pay $15k for one.

Good point, I wasn't thinking about used-but-unworn. While they are not really "new" (i.e. Fresh from an AD with full warranty) they are still in as good as new condition. I'd be very happy to acquire one in that condition.

There are some NOS that you can find under 15 grand. If you have to have a NOS then I would get one now because I don't see the prices going down. Ever. Used also for that matter.

That being said if you're going to wear it then get a used, have it serviced and you're good to go.

Unless you want to be the one peeling the stickers.

Quite beautiful. I know the Hulk is the darling of the forums but there's just something about the 16610LV that draws you in and once it's got you...

I think it has the best of both worlds - vintage appeal with modern features like the larger hour markers.

Now if only it came with Glidelock!....

I've always been drawn to the 16610LV. Seen a few in person and they look great, being a combination of the best aspects of old and new school submariners.

I'm happy with my one and only Rolex for the moment, and will likely buy my lovely wife one before I look for another for myself, but the 16610LV is on my radar. If I have to pay more down the road, so be it. All good things come to those that wait.
