SD43 Flip????

Fellow TRF members, would you guys flip a SD43 plus a little cash for a Yachtmaster 2? Don't know why something about the Yachtmaster 2 captivates me, maybe the wrist presence. Currently in my Rolex collection I have an BLNR and a Hulk. What you guys think?

The YM2 would definitely add diversity to your collection, but man that SD is sweet!

No way, I'd never wear a YM2 as its just not my style.

I wouldn't, but I really enjoyed the YM2 in the time that I owned it. I couldn't really get past the PCLs for some reason on that particular watch, but mostly I found the regatta timer completely useless.

I'd take a simple date over it any day of the week.

If you like YM2 more, go ahead. It's your watch. You decide what you wear.

I like both watches a lot - own the SD43, don't own the YM II.

If I had to choose one, I'd pick the SD43.

However, if you plan to own both at some point, there's an argument for making a trade, as the SD43 trades at a premium (for now) and the YMII can be had for a hefty discount. I would expect the SD43's premium to fall, so you should be able to buy it back in the future for less.

I think I feel the urge to trade cause I feel I have too many similar looking watches but I see everyone's point of view.

I would. I think the YM2 will compliment your BLNR & LVc well, especially if you have the wrists for it. I like the SD43, but I already have a BLNR and might add the LVc. The SD43 is just too similar. The YM2 is probably my favorite larger Rolex and just seems to fit here in Socal with the sun, the beach, and short sleeve weather.

If I could start over again and only wanted one watch then I would take a longer look at the SD43.

I think the YM II is a cool watch. If the SD43 is not singing to you then get what your heart is telling you. These are watches not family members. Life is short.

How many here would flip a BLNR and then pick up a YM? Not many but I did and I'm as happy as a beach bully.

I wouldn't do the trade you're considering but I'm not you. Your wrist, your watches, your money. Do what makes you happy.

Although I like the YM2, I feel like I would get bored of it after a while. I've never owned one and do not own a SD43 either. But I think the SD would be a keeper for me.

If you do the trade, make sure you're getting a decent discount on the YM2, as its pretty soft on the secondary market and if you change your mind it'll cost you.

Trying to figure out how the YM2 has more wrist presence than the SD43. Do you mean bling or having a substantial feeling watch on your wrist? YM2 beats it in bling but the SD43 has much more presence on the wrist.

Hell to the yes. SD43 is just a glorified sub. I never cared for a YM2 until I decided to try it on and it was truly stunning. The blue is extremely vibrant and goes very well with the white dial. Definitely do it!

I'd for sure do it. You have a BLNR which for me is close to the 43. I own a blnr and wouldn't own a 43 or a ss sub as they are too similar to ME. The YM2 is really cool and most importantly different from what you have. Wrist presence and the white and blue is spectacular. I wish I could pull it off but it's just a bit big for my wrist. So I'd say do it if the price is right.

Love the YM2, probably one of the biggest fans on this forum...but don't think I would do this flip.

I would flip one of your other two first. If you really want one that bad.

No way, the yachtmaster 2 is the most gaudy and horrendous looking Rolex ever created
