What is the difference between the Sea dweller & the GMT Master
Both look similar. Anyone know off hand the difference between these 2 watches

Other than one has a diving bezel and one has a GMT bezel w/24 hour hand, they're pretty much the same watch.

The unidirectional vs bi directional bezel, the movement, the size of the markers and the hands, the depth rating, the helium release valve, the price, the functions, the clasp, the crown (depending on the reference) and a few other things I'm sure I missed.

My fiance would say they are the same, but to me (and most others here) they couldn't be more different

One is a dive watch with dive timer on the bezel and only a date function other than the time (Sea Dweller); the other tracks time in multiple time zones (up to three on the GMTIIs) and has a 24 hour hand and bezel as well as date complication. They have a similar physical shape but the Sea Dweller can with stand 1220 meters depth while the GMT is only rated water proof to 100m. Until recently all Sea Dwellers lacked the magnifying cyclops on crystal over the date. The newest SD has a magnifier over the date. In the current model the diameter of the SD is 43mm while the GMT is still 40mm. In prior models they both were 40mm in diameter.

Indeed. I have a GMT2 now (Pepsi) but find myself coveting the SD4K. I'm no saturation diver but I've always been seduced by specs, especially with diving watches.

GMTII: There are at least 4 case variations, steel / steel & gold / yellow gold/ white gold. There are also a few dial and bezel variations.
Sea Dweller: 3 models, all cases are steel. Sea Dweller / Deep Sea / Deep Sea BLUE
