Rolex Explorer 14270
I just bought 14270 Explorer, X serie from 1991. Is it possible that clasp code is S5? Because S5 clasp code is dated to 1994?!?!
Thank you in advance. |

Do your papers say 1991, or are you using a date chart? I have a Rolex document next to me which shows they were still producing X cases in 1993 which would make a 1994 bracelet code quite possible.
Even if the watch were from 1991, all it might have meant was that the watch had a replacement clasp or bracelet fitted --- which is no big deal. Haywood

Then it is indeed likely that the bracelet was swapped or clasp replaced at some time after first supply. In its own right this wouldn't be a cause for material concern.

Could very well be a service replacement bracelet or clasp
