Movement doesn't hack?
Folks,
It's been the second time it happened to me. I unscrew the crown waiting for the second hand to reach exactly the 12 o'clock position to stop the balance. I pull the crown out and the movement doesn't hack. I put it back in and pull back out and it stops. I tries to replicate it but couldn't... Any ideas?? I am really surprised by this. Thanks! BTW its a rolex explorer Y series 114270. |

The winding crown is a 2 part spring-loaded stem, now when pull it out to the wind position and push it in, it releases it from from the movement so you can screw it back down. It's possible but doubtful the hack lever is bent or needs lubrication as it's quite a old watch .

As long as watch is running and keeping time would not rush out just because the hack failed a couple of times. But would be thinking of a service sooner than later if no service history as watch is 15 years old.
