Confused and disappointed - RO 15400ST
Decided to get a real watch recently and felt in love with the 15400ST in black but never actually tried one until today, I think...
When I tried at the AD today, it looked so much smaller than the pictures and videos on peoples wrists I've seen all over the internet, it was very disappointing... The price tag on it was $17800 which matches the model and the sales person said it was the 41mm. Is it possible that I was shown a 37mm or 39mm instead of 41mm with that price tag? Btw my wrist is 6.75", nothing abnormal. |

With a picture we could identify if it was a 15450 instead of 15400. What is your benchmark for size of preference? Most people tend to think the 15400 is large in size.

I have not tried the 15400, but have tried the 26331 (41mm ROC, in case I’ve transposed some numbers).
I generally wear larger watches - ROO 42s and a 44 feature prominently in my rotation - and I did not find the ROC too small at all for my 7” wrist. Surprisingly, I liked it a lot, so much so that it’s moving near to the top of my “next to acquire” list. As other posters have said, it would be good to see some photos. |

Size looked good to me, though I expect the ROC wears a bit larger than the 15400 |

My wrist is 6.5" and the 15400 wears quite big - more like a 43mm. I'm guessing that you tried the 15450.

You wouldn’t have been shown a 39mm since those have been discontinued for a few years and no one is ever going to mistake a 15202 for a 15400.

It wears similar to a Rolex sub but significantly thinner.

I would guess A 41mm AP on your wrist would make you ask us if we think it's too big?
definitely Not too small

As the guys say I reckon you tried on the 15450 at 37mm, hardly ever hear the 15400 wears small unless maybe you have 8 inch wrists. The RO Chronos are also 41mm so you can check against them for the size.

Wrist presence depends on your own actual wrist. The look of the watch varies not only by your wrist size but also the “nature” of your wrist I.e round, flat, etc. I’ve seen individuals with larger wrist (6.75-7.0) than me (6.3-6.5) which looks way too big simply because their wrist is round versus mine which is flat and bonier allowing the watch and lug to lug length to sit well.

No worries. The original Jumbo was supposed to be big. The 41 captures that essence in modern times.
Just make sure the dash by the 3 marker is about twice as long as the date. That's a quick and dirty way to verify the 15400. |

You must have tried on a 37mm. I have 6.5” wrists. Here are pictures of the 41mm I had and flipped because it was too big on me. The 2nd picture is a 37mm I tried on in an AP boutique. It’s too small for me. So I have settled on 39mm being the perfect size for me.

I have been to the AP boutiques in New York City once and the one in Miami many times. It seems to me people here know 100 times more about the brand then the employees at those boutiques do.

Look at the index next to the date...if it's reeeaaaly short (not even half as long as the other indicies), it is a 37mm 15450.

Do they not simply have a tag hanging on the watch with reference number or something? I would think that they would probably have both references in stock, should be pretty easy to determine which is which, the 15400 being substantially larger and all...as tifosi noted, the hour marker at 3:00 next to the date is much shorter on the 450, I would just point out that if you compare pics in the link below, the one on the 15400 is actually less than half the length of the full hour markers, while on the 450 it's so short that it is about the same width of one of the bezel screws.
This article has some comparison shots: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/ex...mm-and-15450-3
