I was thinking more along this line of manufacturing. The 'pre-computer' HP days (before they spun off into Agilent).

Stihl makes a damn good professional-grade chainsaw. I've owned/used Homelite & Shindaiwa (for puttering around the house) but my older Husqvarna is pretty hard to beat for the heavy-duty stuff. It was a significant improvement over an earlier Mac. Then again, it's one of the 'made in Sweden' models and Husqvarna has since expanded into the home/amateur marketplace. I read somewhere that their newer 'home' models are being made in Latin America and Asia. For $199.00 at your local Lowes, expectations shouldn't be too high.

Another factor is the quality/hardness of the blades. Nothing worse than having to stop and sharpen. I've noticed that European-built Stihls (Germany) and Huskies (Sweden) seem to utilize better-grade steel blades than their Japanese counterparts.
IIRC, Stihl chains are made in Switzerland.

USA — Brooklyn Butcher Blocks — cutting boards
As a Texan it is painful to admit that anything is better in New York, but Nils makes superb cutting boards. 100% USA.

Good, I don't see an HP 8722 in there.

Funny how good things come to an end.
Sweden had Bahco. Best tools you could ever get and lifetime warranty. No matter if the damn screwdriver was 70-years old, you'd get a new one if it broke. But it never did break, that was the whole point.
Now on the other hand. It's all chinese made shit. Still cost a fortune and the quality is absolutley horrible. It is truly a very sad sight.

Gotta give Hifi equipment to Denmark.
Dali, Bang & Olufsen, Audiovector etc.
Gotta say, I absolutley love my Audiovector QR3's.
The Danish don't know much, hell they don't even know how to count properly, but they can make loudspeakers. That's for sure.

Nothing can beat an old Husqvarna chainsaw.
Made from the heaviest steel you can find and it takes a man to lift them.
But man they do live forever.

Same goes for their sewing machines and all other equipment they've made.

The pro machines are all Germany. Some homeowner machines are in the US and elsewhere.

The chain was made in Switzerland last time I bought one.

India makes very high quality textiles. High S number wool suit fabric comes to mind. They also make a lot of the MTO shirts that are sold by upscale online shirt companies.

They only work about one in three times. Surely, that is not best quality.

If it were anti-aircraft guns, you'd probably have something. So long as they are only used for their 'justice' system though.
