I think that the market for Rolex is so soft right now and AD's inventories so large, big discounts are lurking here in the good old USA.
Personally, I'd rather have a brand new YG DD than the new one....or just make it platinum. |

on gold and platinums Rolex models, my AD said their cost on these watches are about 30% of the MSRP...
for a watch with MSRP $30,000, their cost would be only $10,000 or so.

I was an AD at one point in my life and our cost was 60% of retail on presidents. Could he have meant if he discounted it 30% off of retail that, that was his cost and he was keeping it a little high just to keep a margin in it for him? I say that becasue when we would sell a d/date in those days and retail was say $20k - we would sell it for 30% off and make about $2000. The brutal part of it would be the client still felt you made a killing on it and he would come back years later with a problem and want it fixed for free, which of course Rolex wouldn't do and if you had to swallow it, well ... you get the picture, there wasn't much left at the end of the day.

I was with the local AD and He offered the a Day date II Ref No:218238 with the trade in my old Day date President ,late 1970 for $7100. So the difference I have to pay 15K.Is that a good deal??? Your comment are greatly appreciated.Do you know a very good Rolex dealer in the East cost? Regards |
