Rolex gift purchase
Hello,
I want to buy for my husband a stainless steel sports model (surprise...) He does not like the Daytona. What watch would you suggest between the following (at MSRP) in case he does not like it and wants to resale it? Which watch would keep best its value? SubLV ceramic ( "Hulk") Red seaDweller Gmt "Batman" Happy New year! |

The Batman or Hulk are both good choices for what you're trying to do. That being said, there are essentially no stainless steel pieces left in the New York area, so you might have a hard time getting one for at least a few months.
Between the two, I'd say that the Batman is the more versatile everyday wear piece just due to the coloring. That would probably be your best bet.

My vote is cast for the GMT. Why not the other two. Size could be an issue on the SD and the green is kinda love it or hate it. IMHO

All the Usual Suspects are fine so just choose his personal fave.

Welcome to TRF. What a nice idea. My choice would be the GMT. Finding one might be another story.
You might be better served looking here in the classified sale section and picking up one from a trusted seller here. Good luck with the hunt and Happy New Year!

If he likes green then LVc hands down.
If he is use to larger watches then the SD hands down. If neither of those apply then the GMT hands down Great gift

If he is a bigger guy the SD but I suppose it would also help to know if he was going to wear it to work and such. If he travels the BLNR would be handy.

All three of those you mention would be excellent choices in terms of holding their value. The question becomes as to whether you can get your hands on one unless you have a strong relationship with your AD, as all three are in very limited supply. Easier obtainable, might be an iconic Submariner Date, which will also hold its value very well and is always in demand on the secondary market. A better choice yet might be to take him to the AD and let him pick out the Rolex of his choice! Good luck!

I’d vote strongly agains the sea dweller, it’s kinda the odd ball out of the three. While all will be hard to source from an AD, all will hold their value really well. The BLNR is definitely a bit more flashy, but solid choice and really nice to have a GMT function. Really hard to to go wrong with a sub and the hulk would be my choice of the two but not everyone is in to green. An Explorer 2 is another great option to consider. What watches does he already own? What’s his style? If he wears a lot of earthy tones I’d vote against the BLNR

If you do (and lucky you!), then you genuinely can’t go wrong with either. Out of the 3 my personal preferences would be the BLNR, but no wrong choice here. Good luck |

You can’t go wrong with any of those great choices
I would say go with what you can find at MSRP. If all are there, I would go with the Batman. Great one watch! |

I recommend taking him to an AD and letting him try on several watches, seeing how it looks and feels on one's wrist is extremely important.

All great choices...can't go wrong with a sub for resale (or for keeping). Good luck!

All 3 choices are great however they're not readily available on ADs. You can go for grey market with a premium though.

They are all very popular and likely to sell for a profit over MSRP.
