Expected Basel Novelties--Disappoint
I am expecting Rolex to release the RONR Coke version of the GMT MAster II 116710 is SS.
Also, with it an all unpolished center links bracelect please, and with a glidelock clasp. Anyone expecting other changes and novelties that would disappoint you ? |

I'd advise changing your expectations to hopes. It would be very cool if they did this but from conversations with my local Rolex boutique, and threads here, the process of combining red and a different color on a ceramic bezel (not aluminum) is very expensive and likely will be reserved only for PM models. The BLRO for example.
As far as BAsel, I think the sports models get the 3235 movement of the SD43, Subs, DSSD, Explorer II, maybe explorer assuming no issues fitting in the case. I also think the DSSD gets the thicker bracelet of the SD. No other guesses from me, I prefer to wait and see. |

A Sub with the 3235 would be perfect. That would make it the perfect piece for rotating. I'd love a Sub I could put down on Friday night and not have to set come Monday morning.

I think Rolex will discontinue the black GV Milgauss, but add a blue dial Explorer 2.

I never try to guess / hope for anything because you set yourself up for disappointment.
If I had to guess, I'd say that nothing earth shattering will be released this year -- perhaps the usual routine with dial changes, etc.. I doubt the 3235 will be placed into the sport cases just yet. |

I wish they'd thin the lugs on the Sub, closer to 5-digit proportions.

So you think they're just going to switch the movement, rather than initiating redesigns of the models over the next few years?

Not necessarily, I think the DSSD could also get the larger bracelet of the SD43. The new movement across the sports line would be a big change. I can’t begin to guess on redesigns, who would have guessed the change in hands on the YMII last year? Frankly it would be nice to see increased production in the high demand SS models over new models and redesigns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I agree, although my reasons are selfish. The current six-digit Sub is my favorite design of that model. A redesign raises the possibility there could be a design I like better than the one I've got. I'd prefer to put that off as long as possible.

If you think about it my wishlist is very simple. Already making all the necessary ingredients. Demand for GMT's would surge! |

Edit: On second thought, it looks like you may have been referring to the larger bracelet on the DSSD. |

Rolex has so far not been able to make a true red ceramic insert.
Please note that the alu Coke-insert is a deeper red than the alu Pepsi-insert. And, a ceramic insert (cf. 116710BLRO) already made is not even close to either. |

Maybe a Platinum Submariner with ice blue dial and slight upsized case with a 3235 movement. Otherwise perhaps a Coke SS GMTIIc. Exciting to speculate. Cheers!
