Which yachtmaster
Looking to get a yachtmaster I've decided it's going to be the platinum dial. Question is should I go for a late M or a V serial with the older style clasp or a random with a newer style clasp. The question isn't clasp I like them both doesn't bother me which one, I seem to have the habit of flipping watches after a few years not found the one just yet apart from the Daytona and the yachtmaster these are the two I haven't owned what's going for the yachtmaster is the date which I use a lot.

I went with the older style clasp with the Rolex Rolex rehaut, as the yachtmaster wasn’t produced for very long in that configuration before the modifications were made to it such as the newer clasp etc. Making the model I have probably one of the rarer variants of the reference......not that I think it makes a lot of difference, but the watch is now gaining in value.

I am torn on these two. The older has the dial with more sparkle which I love, but the newer on has the upgraded and redesigned bracelet which I like much better than the old. I wish I could help but I am in the same quandary

Well, if you're a flipper, get the one you can get the best deal on so you don't get hurt too bad when you flip it.
Or, better yet, figure out what you really want and get that. |

I would say get the newer style bracelet. From a potential buyer's perspective, old style bracelet could mean greater requirement for servicing so that could chase away a few buyers.
Personally for myself I prefer the looks of the newer style bracelet. I think the font for the word "yacht master" is also slightly different between the old & new versions. |

I would go for the newer bracelet and clasp, but if you prefer the dial of the old then that would take precedence for me.

I’d go with the newer clasp! Much better imo

The later versions with the older bracelet, have the newer dial.
As can be seen on my pic above. |

I have a 2008 m-series with the older style clasp & Rolex Rolex rehaut. I had a 2003 first model but paid $700 to upgrade in summer of 2016. It made sense bc the m-series was new and the dial looked stunning. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
