Mobile Phone Photography!

Hey, I noticed I passed 1,000 posts! So to celebrate, I thought I'd start this thread to take up more time

I know many of us here on TRF take tons of pictures, many of them through the lens of a mobile phone. Here I am to challenge you, to take great pictures and to share this with everyone on TRF! It can be watch related, or not, in colour or b&w - the only requirement is that it has to be taken with your mobile device.

So, let's get snapping! This one taken with my trusty iPhone 6. It also reflects the mood in my office right now - that I should be headed home

I have a OnePlus 5 (8gb ram, 128gb storage), with dual camera setup.

First pic is the phone (obviously...) Taken with a iPhone 6s. Just to show the lenses.

Second & third pic is the difference between the two lenses, landscape shot with regular lens, platona with closeup secondary camera.

EDIT: Congrats on passing the 1k posts Won

My best iPhone pics lose so much in compression to fit into the upload limits that it's not worth posting them.

I only post pics using Tapatalk that way I don’t have to screw around with resizing anything trying to upload from the computer is a king size PIA not worth the trouble.

Although full uncompressed would be a lot better, these two pictures you posted are still very beautiful!

My iPhone is creating an 8-10mb data file. TRF accepts less than 300kb. That's more than 90% data loss from the image. You get the gist of it, but the subtle colors and shading are all gone.

TRF media is best for inanimate objects (watches, etc.) that don't need subtleties to set the mood.

Nice ones Dave.

The death camp images certainly invoke emotion.

Even with compression that’s some really nice photography!

Thank you Abdullah, a couple for the Ferrari fans, the colour never came out properly, it's a proper shiny gold in reality. Love the number plate. (Taken in Krakow).

The Qatari fellow was in London. He has several high end cars in mirror gold, including the G wagon. A dive buddy who is in the Emirati royal family told me you choose that finish when you want the whole world to know you are a douche.

Here's an iPhone 4 image.

Taken with my Red iPhone 7

My iPhone camera isn't to bad, although this wasn't taken with my iPhone 7 .... This was taken with my iPhone 3g back in the days when I was well enough to get up into the Mallard .. Still, not bad for a iPhone camera

I decided I'd take a pic with my iPhone 7 camera this morning .. One pic I took with the flash on, the other I took without the flash .. The pics show my fragrance collection all from the house of Clive Christian No.1, X, V, 1872 & Noble Rock Rose .. Also included is a Rolex out of my DJ collection, and also a pair of my Cartier gold rimless glasses set with a diamond in the left and right temple .. I added the glasses because of the diamond thread which got so much traction yesterday and all of the guys who feel diamonds are for girls/ladies/women

Don't know why the pics are upside down .... turn your phones and or monitors upside down to get a better look, because I don't know how to fix the pictures

My daughter actually took these with her phone. I think they are pretty cool. It's her dog, Oscar...

Thank you all for sharing, gents! And some very nice pics in here!

@Bas, I think that's a great phone for pics; I have been considering upgrading to the Mate 10, but I think I will stick with my Huawei P10 for now.

@Abdullah, I don't know what you are talking about mate, cos those are some proper good pics (especially the one in Sifah, Oman and with just an iPhone 4)! And that gold California; I remember seeing him a YT video; I think he's a boxer?

@Jason, those are some great pics of Oscar! I would suggest you perhaps add some contrast and highlight, then turn it into a b&w pic. I think it has potential to improve!

Here's a pic I took just last weekend. A view from my balcony from the lens of my P10. If you want to view in full size, you can click here.

I had a Motorola G2 before which was at the end of his life so I really needed an upgrade. Was looking into iPhone and Samsung but really couldn't justify the premium over this OnePlus 5.
I buy my phones with cash and dropping close to €1k on a phone is a little too rich for my blood. Ended up with the OP5 which blows most end-tier phones out of the water with it's specs, hoping it to last 3-4 years.

@Bas same reason why I bought the Huawei P10; iPhone X is much too expensive for me! But honestly, I'm quite happy with what I have, especially since the P10 is capable of quite decent pics in a variety of light.

@dr35mm that is very nice! Great perspective! Was this edited to be "cooler"? Looks a bit blue from my screen.

@mschafer great shot as well, thank you for sharing. I can see the colours are a little cooler; was it the time of day, or was the pic edited to be cooler?

Here's one taken with my old iPhone 5 - a view from my office, watching as a storm approaches the city.

I have the same IOS problem, except they like to post sideways when I post from my phone (I don't have the issue posting from my laptop). Try editing your photo in camera. Rotate about 1 degree and save. That will post them upright in TRF.
