It's Junk.
Some of these Tudor fakes (Pelagos, Black Bay, etc.) are very good. So, you really need to know your stuff if considering one and/or only purchase from trusted/vetted sources. |

Unfortunately I did buy it and it’s on its way.
Lesson learned. I’ll take it by the AD here in town and see what they say. If it’s not kosher I’ll invoke the ebay buyer protection |

well that stinks.
Guess the ebay buyer guarantee will come into play here. Going to let the AD pass judgement on it too. |

Well then I hope you get it sorted. Might not have to go the buyer-protection route if the seller just agrees to refund you.
Speaking of which, have you got a link to the auction/seller by chance? |

Agreed - We have seen several of these in the last 6 weeks in the UK, they are very good and I wouldn't touch one without removing the back and having an AD inspect, even the movements are elaborate.

yup.
I've sent him a link to this thread and already told him once confirmed its coming back for a refund or I'll let eBay know its a counterfeit item. Never had to do this before but I'm not getting burned on a $2300 purchase. He responded its authentic as "the swiss watch shop told him how nice it is when he had the links sized" Is the process with eBay straightforward? Ugh, lining up a different one from one of the forums trusted sellers, what a waste of time and hopefully not money. |

Scary! I’ve been looking at the new in-house version. For those that spotted a fake, what was the tell?

Corners look way too rounded, just overall poor machining

Bracelet is poorly machined and tolerances are an issue. Clasp shows machine marks

No chance to clone the TUDOR movement, it has a silicon spring.

I realize that they can fake packaging too but I feel more confident when the seller can provide all the original boxes and paperwork. For a relatively new watch that’s over $3000 it shouldn’t be that difficult to have the whole kit. I think this generation of watch buyers is more particular about keeping these sorts of things as opposed to 25 years ago when the buyer would leave the Rolex box on the store counter.

for a $3000 watch, why are fakes even made, but really why would anyone even buy one vs just getting the real deal

I suspect that its because they are less expensive. I think everyone automatically assumes most of these Rolex's are fake where as with Tudor, it must be real as why fake a watch at that price point? I think most people have a false sense of security so its probably easier to sell them as real.

Once you have the kit to make fakes to this standard, I don't imagine its too difficult to clone a design and knock them out minimal cost. I would be morbidly interested in seeing the process start to finish to see how much work actually goes in.

It arrives today, going to review it thoroughly and swing by the AD.
I'll be sure to post pics. If confirmed as a knock off - I'll notify ebay and go from there. |

Could the answer to the question of WHY, be what the cost is to make a fake, & what they can be sold for fraudulently ?

I think buyers are less suspicious of brands other than Rolex which are widely known to be faked. Panerai the same. Its like the Nigerian scams, people are wise in general to any lottery win from the Nigerian government.
Like to see how this pans out. Keep us informed. |

FYI i remember a scam that was similar. Basically if i remember correctly some guy sold a fake Tudor. Buyer tried to return it (seller agreed) and then seller claimed the returned watch was a fake and not what he sold, and that the buyer was the one pulling the switcheroo . eBay sided with the seller initially. I think it was a long and drawn out process. I might have the story backwards though, and a buyer bought a genuine one and returned a fake one to the seller. In any case it was about proving what watch was actually sent and who was the scammer as both parties told eBay it was the other person. IF i were you i wouldn't accept the package. Dont open it, return to sender. If you already think its fake, dont even get it checked out. |

Watch has arrived and is in fact not authentic. I've filed a claim with eBay stating that it is counterfeit.
The clasp springs and shoddy work speak for itself - there is play in the clasp and the "bearings" are plastic and not ceramic. There is not a tactile tick at 12' and the indices at 7 & 8 are crooked. |

Sorry to hear this but not surprising tbh. What does the seller say? Hopefully he's an upright seller who wants to protect his reputation on Ebay. Ask him to send you a return shipping label.
