Ferrite, meteor, and other “stone” type dials

I was in an ad today and they had a ferrite dial day date. I had never seen one before. Needless to say it was beautiful. They didn’t have a meteor dial but I am aware of them. (Man I would love to own a meteor dial one day.)

I think I saw a tiger eye dial one time and mop dials are fairly common.

This got me wondering about the other Rolex dials made of natural substances (other than gold and platinum) like stones and meteors.

Does anyone know or have a picture of any other types of stone or natural material dials?

Thank you in advance. Love the information on this site.

Check out Lapis dials! Generally they are my favourite. Also the Grossular Daytona is sweet.

The lapis dials are really something special to be seen

I wonder when these were actually offered or if they will ever have them again?

I had a WG Meteorite which I loved. Traded up to platinum.

Meteor Daytona

Hi locutus49. I love the platona. Probably my grail watch. But looking at the photo of that meteor Daytona I wouldn’t be able to trade it away. So unique and sharp looking. I admire your courage to part with it.

Meteorite is supposed to be the oldest thing known to man. Older than the Earth itself.
I'd love to have one if they were Arabic instead of Roman numerals.

Rolex uses Gibeon meteor, which I believe is 4 billion years, about the same as earth.

Onyx and Sodalite dials were also made. Don’t know if they are available in the current lineup.
