In this thread alone, there have been many reports of ADs being informed by Rolex, either by email or telephone, that the BLRO has been discontinued, and orders for it will not be fulfilled. Even the first post in this thread said the source had received the information directly from Rolex.

But that raises the question of why such difference in positions between Rolex in the US and the EU! |

I can't imagine any store having more than one of those things.

Guess I will wait and see what comes out at Basel before I decide to take the plunge on the BLRO!

BLRO is reportedly discontinued as of today!
To add, I just tried to place a sold order for one for a client and our ASM said that it was unavailable and made no mention of it becoming available again.
Without really saying so, he more or less confirmed it’s demise |

Yeah, if true, it's just gonna be a new movement starting in the PM models before it trickles down. That's only "discontinued" in the most pedantic use of the term.

Would be an amazing watch if in SS, but at current price point not a huge seller...

Was at my AD today to pick up my SeaDweller and mentioned the BLRO issue, he said the Rolex Rep had just left, but before he did, he said that although its not officially discontinued, it will be very soon.

That means the BLNR, subLV, and JC are probably staying given that reps are already “leaking” what’s going to be discontinued!

I was at a Rolex boutique six days ago and when asked they basically admitted that it was discontinued. They weren't saying to push that watch on me - I was looking at something else and just brought it up.

I don’t see Rolex taking the BLRO out of the line and I definitely don’t think they’re going to release it in SS The new movement has to finish working its way into the lineup, and Rolex wouldn’t refresh their entire line all at once, having it trickle down starting with PM models makes sense. Just like they did with the day date 41 in 2015 then 2 years later updating the date just line with it. I think they will limit the supply of the SS models the entire 2018 to move the old stock, then 2019 they’ll refresh all the SS sports models with the new movements. |

Maybe this is going to be a new long term approach for Rolex. Keep making new models (along with the standard reference models) and keep phasing them in and out of production to keep everyone Happy with new choices all the time. We all know everyone wants to feel special and those limited editions in watches sure fits that bill.
