Ever flipped complete 180* on a model?
Have you ever gone from one extreme to the other with a model?
I never gave the Milgauss more than the briefest consideration before being totally not interested. Just did nothing for me. Seemed a little too out there color wise and that second hand... Then, today, for no apparent reason I find myself totally infatuated with the Z Blue. That dial, the green rimmed crystal, that whimsical second hand....can’t get it out of my head. I have no idea why this has happened. Maybe it’s just a little boredom with the black dial. |

That was the Hulk for me. Thought it was ugly AF at first then I paid closer attention to it and the hype got to me eventually. Now I think it's one of the most stunning production Rolexes.

Batman. Loved it when it came out but now, not so much. They’re everywhere.

The same thing happened to me with the Hulk, did not get the appeal at first, but now I really appreciate how beautiful a watch it is, now if I could only get one :)

Hulk.
Absolutely hated it in pictures and had no idea why everyone loved it. Then I saw it while I was visiting the AD to look at the Blue Datejust II. Buh bye Datejust, hello Hulk!! Never looked back.

The Explorer II for me. I hated. I never even bothered to try one on. My wife thought it was nice so she asked me to try one on and I've loved it ever since.

I totally get the pull of the Milgauss. I had it in white, flipped it, then just re-acquired it six months ago. I can't see ever parting with it again. I totally get the appeal of the z blue. It could be the most mesmerizing watch Rolex makes. Good luck fighting it off....no chance if you stick around here! You should save yourself the trouble and pick it up!

I believe I was one of the early detractors of this reference... I think I chimed in when it was dubbed "seaweed" dweller etc etc.
Then, I saw one in the flesh and bought it on the spot. Sent from my SM-G935W8 using Tapatalk |

Explorer II, I think it’s the ugliest one of the bunch in photos. It’s has been my daily wearer now for years. It does everything right on the wrist.

Not really, I suppose I'm not a huge fan of the brown on the Platona in pics but in real life the ice blue dial takes over the view.
Over time I do find black on black can get a little boring, I now prefer colour and Rolex do make the best most vibrant sunburst dials. |

Agreed, Neil. |

BLNR- loved it in pictures, was next on my list, saw it in person and thought it was just ok. Saw the LVC in person and that has now taken over as the next one to acquire (hopefully!)

I experience the other way to nearly every modern Rolex watch.
Saw it, must have, got it, didn't do anything, rid it/ safe queen. Older case OTOH have been singing steadily all along, I'm back to basics 36mm anything.

When the DSSD came out I tried it and found it a ridiculous watch. Now a happy owner

I had to have a DSSD when they first came out. But it was waaayyy too big for me.
During the same time I couldnt stand a little wimpy speedy. Now the speedy and a OP grape are my daily watches. |

I was gungho about the 114060 and already owned a 14060. After a year the 114060 felt awkward on the wrist so I traded it. Bought a blue DJII and later picked up the Blue SkyD. The DJII which I liked so much became redundant.

Yep, the Datejust in general. Couldn't see the desirability in them once upon a time.
Now I think they are the definitive Rolex by a mile. Just so much variety in the line up, beautifully put together. I look at all the Subs, Deep seas, SD's now and just can't see fascination for them. They're great watches, but the good old Datejust blows them all away to my mind. |

Daytona. Thought the dial was too busy for its size and didn’t get the big deal, then I wore by friend’s Daytona for a day and I became a believer.
