I also work in the financial industry and everybody dresses like slobs here. Anything goes is the creed. So I just wear jeans and an UnTuckit shirt as well.

Tim - I was a navigator on the KC-135R. Stationed at McConnell, Altus as an instructor/evaluator, Ft Sill as an ALO, then back to Altus as an instructor/evaluator/staff puke. The picture above is in my IG office at Altus in the Wing bldg upstairs from the Wing/CC. If you remember the restricted areas on the west side of Ft Sill; Falcon Range, is where I hang my hat these days. Somewhere in the world we've probably been on the other side of a refueling from each other. |

I do IT consulting for some clients, and some property management for another.
My clients are VERY casual, so I just ensure that I'm dressed presentable and one notch above how my clients dress. |

me too. Now that I work remotely from home it's whatever I want to wear but when I worked in the office it was still suits and casual Fridays. We would have have meeting with external collaborators and they were always dressed down compared to my office.

I love the UnTuckit brand. I have been wearing their stuff for years and nice to see that they have really exploded.

I'm an attorney and I wear jeans every day that I'm not in court - and I'm almost never in court anymore! I do wear a button down shirt with a blazer though.
I let my staff dress how they want as long as they don't dress like slobs. It's 10 women though so they all dress cute because... they're women. |

Business casual minus - jeans and an Oxford, tucked in. Chinos if clients visiting.

Seth, while some great advice has been given, I think this is a personal option.
I know you own your own business, but I don't know the industry. You have the job you want, so you don't have to dress for a promotion. You're the boss, so you can dress how you want. Dress for your industry. Dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable. Don't let your attire prevent you from closing a deal. Lastly, since you gave up the sauce and are now working out more, you will probably need a new wardrobe. Get what you want! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I did a three year tour at Altus by the Sea in the C-141 Loadmaster schoolhouse 85-88. I flew out of CHS, Altus, McChord, HQ AMC at Scott, plus two tours in PME. Finished at Hickam as Commandant of the NCO Academy. Retired and stayed here. Now work current ops scheduling C-17s. Deal with AMLOs all the time from Schofield Barracks working JAATTs. 😄 I also frequently coordinate business efforts with McConnell and other tanker units to come our way to get some AR training for the pilots here. Small world. Aloha, Tim |

I own a construction company. For the most part, I’m very over dressed for the last few years. I believe fully in dressing for a role. But everything is just getting so relaxed. And as I age, and relax a bit myself, I’m thinking I can go from a tucked in buttondown, to one that is untucked. Lots of interesting feedback from this post. Ive enjoyed it immensely.

Suit and tie 5 days a week minus the jacket (wrinkles the shirt and La is blazing hot). Clothes are my third materialistic love behind watches and cars....

One thing that does annoy me is the idea that khakis and a golf shirt are "business casual"
Every company is free to set their own dress code. but if an outfit could be worn for a round of golf, then call it what it is: smart casual |

My job takes me from talking to a guy in the field to negotiating contracts and going to Sacramento to visit with elected officials.
So on any day I could be in a Hawaiian shirt and Levi's or suit and tie. Prefer the Hawaiian shirt. |

In court, meetings with lawyers and/or counsel then I'm in a suit.
Normal day in the office, then it's trousers and short sleeve shirt. Maybe long sleeves if I'm meeting clients. Out on survey then it's boiler suit, boots and hard hat or cargo pants, polo, boots and hard hat. When I repatriate back to the later UK this year, then it's collar and tie in the office.

Our corporate policy is “dress for the day.” If your schedule is pretty open, you can wear jeans and a polo or button up. If you do have a client meeting or with some of the executives, you’re expected to be business casual. There are still plenty of people who wear suits everyday without ties though but it seems the younger crowd has been quicker to make the switch to jeans.

When I worked for IBM it was IBM corp polo shirts most days and a white IBM corp Button down and tie for sales dog and pony shows. I wore dockers 100 percent of the time and Mephisto shoes.
Way way back 25 years ago it was Polo shirts in the early 90's and Brooks Bros. I tried to dress for success but it never worked for me.....just wasted money. |

Aww thx! We hired a closet tailor a few years back to redesign the closet my wife and I shared. She informed us that she could only do so much with the space we had. She then asked "is that an extra room I saw near the back door" my wife said "we are going to turn that room into my office/prayer room". I said, "why? You don't have a job and you can pray anywhere". Obviously, this one worked out in my favor and we converted the extra room into a dream closet for me. My wife is GREAT gal!!!

I would get so confused in that closet! What I love about working in tech is that jeans, sneakers and a black t-shirt is the basic uniform of success.
