My better half just got a new one...
After getting my wife a midsize DateJust with the white roman, she felt the face was a little small, the roman/white face contrast was a little hard to read and she wanted the date the size of my GMT IIc. Well off to the AD we went. Low and behold the AD presented a Oyster Perpetual Date (34mm) with a roman black face and fluted 18kt bezel. The Oyster Perpetual Date is midway between the Oyster Perpetual DateJust midsize (31mm) and the full size men's Date Just (36mm). Love at first sight and it came home with us.

Congrats on a lovely piece!
I have to say though that I find it strange that she finds the white roman dial difficult to read as opposed to this new one with silver hands against a black dial.... For me it's just the opposite. |

It actually reads better than my pics show. Wish I had a photo light box to bring in the light from all angles. The hands show up really nice on the black. |

The 34mm Date is less well known, I think, but it's definitely a step up in size from the midsize and is nice if you don't want to go all the way to the men's 36mm. Your wife's wrists look very petite - the Date looks really nice on her. Maybe I'm biased - I have a Date, too.
I wish there were as many dial options with this size as the 36mm, though. |

Nice looking dial! The fluted bezel looks good with the polished center links as well! Congrats!
