Because it's not safe to wear a Rolex on the sideline...there's a high risk of getting run over by one or more player.
That's why they do not wear Rolex. |

At least they wear a watch. Every gentleman should do so.

Yes! I want the watch without having to buy the jewelry involved in it.

Why does it have to be a Rolex? Steve McQueen is more famous for wearing a Tag Heuer Monaco anyway.

It was a Heuer back then. That's not nitpicking. Since TAG took over the company, they've aimed at a different market segment and watered down the brand's overall design ethos, even if the Monaco itself still has a certain élan.

TAG have been gone longer than they were there. This is also a very tired comeback. Market segment also hasn't anything to do with my comment. There are many brands at a higher segment than Rolex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

A company that's been around since 1860 is likely to do that. While Rolex is relatively young they have also changed considerably. Initially they were just the last man in the chain putting end products to market. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

No idea who these two chaps are. Lot of nonsense on this thread. The vast majority of the wealthiest people I've met have worn nondescript (crap imho) watches. Oh and Toyotas are the millionaire's choice of car...apparently, I read somewhere. The cars as a status symbol thing went out of the window ages ago and anyone with a job can buy a damn Mercedes, monthly over a hundred years or give it back then pay out of your a-hole later and what have you. What a load of rubbish on this thread there is.

not really. I know several filthy rich people who chose not to signal their wealth in that way. They are actually some of the cheapest living people i know. One is a lawyer made 25 million dollars (his cut) by successfully arguing a large lawsuit, and that is the only case i even know about as that made the local paper in my home state so im sure there are more. He drives a 60's VW bug.

In my opinion, Rolex has gotten more interesting, while TAG Heuer has gotten more bland. Some of their Heritage collection might get me to look twice, but the rest of their ranges are snooze city, at least to me.

So why not just enjoy it rather than trolling other brands. There's a reason why there are lots of different ONES and it's not what a lot of the Fanboys think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Who's trolling? You brought up TAG Heuer like it deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as Rolex. I disagreed with you, and replied accordingly. If there isn't room for that in this forum, I'm not sure why any of us are here.

Not everyone can bring themselves to spending thousands on a watch. They are clearly men of simple taste

This is absolutely shocking news.

I kind of figured any display of wealth was probably a bad idea for a college team. Last thing they need is to be accused of accepting large gifts.

Why not Rolex? Doesn’t make sense
Robbyman said it earlier. Many are missing the sponsorship point perhaps:
Nike buys the shirt/uniform contract via sponsorship so they wear their logo. The answer may be sponsorship. Fossil makes logo watches for NCAA teams. The school may be getting some funding via exclusive wristwear by the head coach. Every part of your body in sports is a potential billboard. Just my Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
