Just returned from an AD in Norfolk, VA. I was looking for the YM 40 with the Rhodium dial. Did not have one at any of their 12 locations. I really didnt think this watch was on the Oh My God cant find one list. I was told that while the Ceramic Daytonas are still at the top of the cant get one list in addition to the Batmans and Hulks and so forth the YM is now very hard to get and there are waiting lists. Anyone heard of this?

FYI they did have a lot of SS DJs (all sizes) a couple of Milgause and a few Explorers in stock. I tried on the RG YM on the oysterflex. VERY nice!!

Thanks for the info. Were they Exp. I or Exp. II? The black Exp. II is still fairly easy to find, but it seems the Exp. I is as rare a bird as the other SS sports models, with the Polar Exp. II not far behind.

It was very tempting, but I am not sold on the oysterflex.

Yes the rhodium YM was quite hard to get last year, esp compared to blue, so now it must be worse. Exp2s and Millies are easiest to get.

To be honest at first the sales lady said they had the Rhodium YM 40 at one of their other stores and as she was coming back from making the call I lost all train of thought on the other watches in the case. The only thing I could tell you was they didnt have a polar. (Obviously she was wrong, the other store had sold the YM they had)

Yes. I intentionally used an improper term for the sake of clarity, rather than take OP's comment at face value and assume he was using the proper term.

I remember Adam showing an ad where Rolex called it Explorer I but I won't be able to find and I could be wrong as well.

That I'd be interested to see. I've only ever seen it officially referred to as an Explorer. I've got a couple brochures, and in them the watches are referred to as the Explorer and Explorer II. I believe Jack is correct; I was just using shorthand.

The Yachtmaster in Rhodium is a great watch - that is why it is tough to find now...

David SW has a YM40 with a Rhodium dial listed in not worn condition.

I know they have two Explorers at one of their locations as of yesterday. PM me if you want details.

On the Rolex website they are listed as Ex and ExII. And yes, now I am being persnickety, but my short hand, WG numeral Explorer is my everyday watch and my favorite, go to timepiece. 😊
