If you love the BLNR, sure.
I personally would never do that. If I could get a new 16710 right now at a reasonable price. I would take it over the BLNR any day. Even if Rolex rolled back on ceramic and made a new pepsi with all the new advancements but with the aluminum bezel insert, I would buy one instantly. I'll even take a maxi case version if that was the compromise. |

It seems to me that sometimes when you have a highly popular and successful watch discussed in watch forums, like the BLNR, you get knee-jerk and automatic contrarians seemingly because the watch is simply too popular for their tastes. OK, you don't have to like it for yourself, but it is humorous to assert that this piece is anything but proven and established at this point. I have no doubt whatsoever that this watch will be considered a classic down the road, and I certainly will never flip mine.
That being written, I would hold the Pepsi, but also purchase a BLNR when the OP can as well. It has become one of my two favorite most hold pieces and I am kind of fickle. |

I would not make that swap!
Not only is it amazing because you are the original owner of an iconic, discontinued, and timeless reference, but I genuinely find the proportions as well as the bracelet, and size/wearability of the 16710 are much more balanced than the 116710. I owned both, the pepsi is not going anywhere, the BLNR has been sold. |

No no defiantly not, that's something you will regret.
The BLNR nicely compliments the 16710 if I where you I would keep the 16710 and buy the BLNR. THE PCL are hard to live with but it's a great piece. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk |

Keep the Pepsi. Too much history with the watch. Sounds like you had a reason for holding onto it.

I agree with the majority, I have a 16700 Pepsi and it is my favourite watch in my collection.

If you still enjoy wearing the Pepsi then no. If you’re bored and not feeling it anymore then trade for the BLNR. I have a BLNR and it is one of my favorites.

If you like the advantages of the newer watch there is no real advantage in keeping the older watch. Many feel that the 16710 is a must have for a collection. In general I really prefer having functionality more than collectability in general. My 16700 was traded once I started wearing my Sky Dweller. The SkyD has all the functionality I needed as a GMT. At any rate it's your choice.

If you cannot have both and really prefer the black/blue to the red/blue, then go for it! I personally do not see the fascination with the pepsi and really prefer the batman over it, could care less which is more of a "collector piece". Buy the one you like and sell the other if you cannot have or want both.

I have both watches and although they may share the same name and function, the look and feel are completely different. At this point it would be very difficult to choose one. But life is short and it sounds like you want the BLNR. I would separate my ways after 15years and get the BLNR as you could probably find someone to trade you.

16710 from birth? KEEP IT. Adjust all others as needed. I would view a good 16710 as harder and harder to replace as time marches on. You have had it this long...I think its a lifetime keeper. and I don't say that about many watches.
I know that the BLNR has a lot of upgrades, big cool case, and is technically superior, better bracelet....but the historical value and legend of the 16710 cant be/ won't be surpassed. ...likely never. I would add pieces around the 16710. OTOH black and blue goes with a lot of clothing options like blue or gray suits and jeans. The blue and red less so... All that said...if you are bored with it and simply tired of looking at it, you could sell it for a good bit of money and allow that cash to translate into anything else toy might want.

As a BLNR owner, I'd say keep the Pepsi if you don't want both. I would still love to pick up a Pepsi one day

I've made that trade before and lost interest with the BLNR quickly. I bought back the Pepsi last year and have never been happier (especially now I worked out how to change the bezel to the coke)

I was in a similar position. I loved my 16710 with all 3 bezel's but I couldn't resist the more modern benefits of the BLNR. I sold my Pepsi and went with Batman. I can't say I regret it at all. Sure I miss the Pepsi but I don't need 2 GMT's and overall the BLNR wins out.

I did it. Enjoyed the BLNR much more than the Pepsi. However I then sold the BLNR and bought a 16610LV.
