Russell Crowe's watches for sale

Pretty cool to know how he came about to buying these pieces and the movies he was working on back then, like Gladiator and Master & Commander.

https://youtu.be/xc2G6GaG-4I

Selling his Yacht-Master platinum dial and his YG Daytona among others.

Pro tip: speed up the vid to 1.5x speed. RC speaks incredibly slow.

Curious how casually he buys watches.

Movie star money, I guess.

So I guess you won't be interviewing him for a Q&A article here on TRF?

He has a wide variety of watches, but not sure I would have bought most of those models....although maybe 1 or 2 of those Rolex i.e. Daytona and YM

I did like Gladiator, I thought he played that role well.

Heathens all. RC rightly deserved an Oscar for his brilliant performance on South Park with Tugger as best supporting. Impressive collection on the block but with that kind of passion you know he is keeping his best back.

Great video. I love to hear stories like these about when/where/why a watch was chosen for purchase.

This is true. He shot “beautiful mind” in my town and the site was by a school.

He does mention that he owns a platinum Panerai, so we can assume he is holding his best back.

I suspect his divorce is expensive and he wants to come out better than if he didn't sell anything. He mentions in another interview that he can only ride one motor bike at a time, so he may be going minimalist.

Really?

I thought it was utterly unremarkable. Bought several in airports he said.

May I know your point Sir?Are you blaming poor R.C for the choosing the site? The filming spot for any movie is first chosen by the location scout. The final approval and decision are made by the location manager and director

Quite apart from the financial capacity to just pick and choose any watch that takes your fancy, I find it hard to imagine myself disposing of watches that I don't actually dislike, but maybe just feel neutral about.
Surely the auction value is insignificant to this guy.
I guess it depends whether you are a flipper or a keeper. Just clearing the decks.

Interesting that of all the watches he's selling he says the Cellini will be "a bit heartbreaker to get rid of"
