Video New GMT Pepsi Ceramic Bezel vs Old Aluminum Bezel

Hello All

This video really shows the color differences between the new GMT Pepsi Ceramic Bezel (not so blue and not so red) vs the old Aluminum Bezel (blue and red).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TCFaqqgjq0

Regardless the new GMT Pepsi looks good to me; love it.

Regards

It really does look purple. Is the blue on the Pepsi not the same as the BLNR?

No, it is not. Its a function of how each bezel is made.

Jesus. I thought the images were bad, but this confirms it for me: I don't want one. The colors are just way off. Love the Batman. Amazing blue and deep black.

I was really stoked when it was first announced and really bummed when told list was already at five years at my AD, but am now glad that's the case. I've lost more interest with every passing day since its inauguration- the thing looks downright cheap and wrong to me. I will probably go for the TT GMT II with the black dial/green text, but also dig the new root beer. Pepsi fail.

My 16700 has a newer Pepsi bezel and it looks a very dark blue or some could maybe see some purple. I guess the difference is that with the aluminum bezels it will lighten over time. Whereas with the ceramic the colors are there to stay.

Nothing compares to the classic 16710 BLRO.

No not even close. The ceramic bezel is monoblock or one piece so it's first made as the cranberry color then the half is changed to grape color.

The aluminum bezel outshines the new bezel by a mile. The blue and red looks great and the watch even being old looks much better in my opinion. The ceramic bezel is good and it is an important update in the watch world. But if you can’t get the colors right don’t do it. Simple as that. The brown and black bezel looks great on the other hand. Here is a video: https://youtu.be/Z-CF0eEN7Sc

The new GMT looks more like a clown watch to be honest. Name: 4D36A466-C1C2-4E7F-889F-E9C5C9C9442D.jpeg

The movement update is great and the Jubilee bracelet is a love hate thing. But the Bezel, I think Rolex can do better. The pictures on the website are certainly photoshopped. The BLNR has that perfect color, it is accurate when their say Blue and Black!

I am disappointed by the look of the watch on the videos across the board!

I have a Pepsi 16710 and love it. I certainly don’t think the new one is bad though. Yes the colours are different but actually that may not be a bad thing given the watch is quite blingy so it tones it down a little. I really like it. The only piece I don’t care for is the bracelet. Other than that, I think it’s great.

A WG one may be in my future if the price drops a little.

Great video. Watch Advisor has the best Basel world videos this year.
Love both watches and would love to own both if I could but prefer the new one, shame it's on a jubilee though.
So tired of the griping, whining and complaining, and immense negativity regarding value and colors... especially from people who've never owned the BLRO or obviously this watch and are judging based on macro internet photos. So all you color and keyboard Rolex experts have fun with this thread as seems the norm here now.

You know, I took a screen shot when the two GMT's were side by side and I did some color correcting to give me a better idea as to the color of the 126710's bezel...yeah, it's definitely on the purple side of blue. In order to get it to a similar blue to the BLNR, the other colors became just wacky. So are we calling this the Barney? Barney Pepsi? VIRO? VIBLRO? Shatastic? WWJD?

I love the ceramic bezels and I can live with the colors personally but I'm gonna guess that the 16710's Pepsis aren't going to dip much in price and the 126710's are going to be impossible to get for a while...so win for 16710 Pepsi owners, AD's, AD's VIP list and gray market dealers....the rest of us...oh well...

Unfortunately the white balance seems to be way out in that video.

Neither bezel colour looked correct.

They complained for years how hard it was to make a red ceramic bezel. Well the red looks better than the blue! That blue looks like an awful purpleish mess. Red is a little off too but I can live with it - what is the issue with that blue!

There’s no telling for me until I see it in the metal.

I’ve handled the current WG BLRO and have a love hate (hate may be too strong a word) for the bezel colors.

For me, I couldn’t justify pulling the trigger on a PM piece that it didn’t absolutely love.

I’ll wait to reserve judgement till I see it

Think of it this way... Rolex will eventually fix the color and the “wrong” color will become highly collectible and prized!

I love the bezel colors on the 116719 so that's a non issue for me. I just need to see how I feel about the jubilee bracelet.
