I wouldn't....

....I bought my SS/Gold blue/blue Sub in Hong Kong during the summer of 1991. Yes, it's all real - had it checked by Rolex in Hong Kong, and it's been serviced by Rolex (NY).

I paid $3,600 for it in Hong Kong - and when I just had it serviced a month ago by Rolex, they told me to insure it for $9,300. Obvously I didn't buy it in the first place as an investment.... but have worn it almost every single day since purchase.

Don't you have a boat, old car or even one of your kid's that you can sell to get your Daytona instead?

I think you considered your options, taken some advice from the folks in the forum, and made the right decision.

I'm a recent Rolex owner, the Sub coming about a month ago as my first and followed up with a GMT II a couple of weeks later. I wouldn't think about parting with either to fund another watch; I'd wait, or do without.

Now, if some family crisis arose, I'd toss both in a heartbeat if I had to... In the end, you just need to put it all in perspective.

Sell a kidney before you sell your Sub... but I don't very feel strongly about it.

The Blue Sub is a beautiful classic. May regret selling your first. Don't you always remember your first love:)

I am not a Sub fan however I 1000% with JJ.

Keep the sub. You will miss it once you got your Daytona.

Take it from someone who sold their SS Sub for a SS White face Daytona. While I like the Daytona I still miss my Sub terribly. PLEASE think about it at least 5 times and if you consistently arrive at the same decision...go with that.

Don´t do it. I think people whant the daytona just because is dificult to get. In my opinion, the submariner is the best.

Everytime I buy a watch I say I will sell some to feel better. Never works. I dislike my Milgauss but can't seem to part with it. Keep your first.

I think your are more in love with the daytona...So if you have enough money plus the sub..then go buy the daytona...its easy to save money for a sub but its not easy to save on a daytona..
